surgery was a total success all the arm pain is gone....but wow---the surgical pain is pretty bad right now...really not able to move too much and finding the right spot to be in has been daunting. It is entirely worth all of that pain though cause my PAIN isn't there and that pain will go away soon enough. Each day will get me closer to that What a gift to have been given, I feel so blessed....

This is SO GREAT to hear!!

Those cold gel packs were my saving grace to get me thru the first few days post op. Like you said, it's SO worth it, knowing your pain condition will be under control and you can get your life back!

How many restrictions did your Dr give you (as far as bending, lifting, etc)....
THIS is something I'm gonna be a 'nag' about from here on out because I sit here awaiting my REVISION date to be scheduled due to a migrated lead...
Until now, I was not aware of how common lead migration actually is!
My Dr did NOT put ANY emphasis on post op restrictions.....he basically placed my percutaneous leads and booted me out the door saying "Now go live your life!"....and he gleefully collected quite a pocketful of change
I thought I had done my best as far as using 'common sense', but evidentally I took for granted that which I should have used more caution, and who's to say he didn't suture and anchor the leads as well as could have been done!.....sooooo,
DO TAKE HEED!!

I'm so happy for you that your surgery went well and that you are going to be getting good pain relief!

Rae

I do have many restrictions right now..no lifting bending twisting reaching and have to wear the collar 24/7 for the next few weeks. I did buy a grabber, but my niece is here taking care of me for this week and my parents are coming through xmas...which i'm really excited about. That way while my husband is at work, I will have someone with me even if just for company...she loves to pick up my stuff Ha!! She's 19 and it's good practice for her.. But i'm being extremely careful!!

OK i realize now with this surgery you have NO shame My husband for the first few days was in charge of the sponge bath, not really a big deal..then he has to help get my pants on and do my hair---which he really stinks at but at least it's not sticking all to my cervical collar and is in a pony...But my parents just arrived to relieve my niece, so while my husbands at work i have some help, but really sad when my mom is now my sponge bather and i am 35...totally lost all shame...it's either that or wait to get clean until 8pm when my hubby gets home. moms are amazing and so wonderful and they've done it before, but still pretty embarrasing
