Ok, it's been over a year since we posted on this. We've got a bunch more new friends since then.

You can tell this is outdated because we still referred to us at the Bionic Butt Buzzers...... It's not all 'butts' now! Nor is it all 'Buzzers' !!

Let's think up a new name for the SCS club!

Pooh, if you are reading this, let me know the name of your horse that passed away last year. I remember that I named my SCS in honor of your horse. I recall we were having a chatroom party and that's when we decided this.

I had my SCS implanted 4 days ago. I have named it 'Buzz' . Lots of pain so far and it needs programmming, shocks me whenever I change position, have decided to wait for programming and just try to recover from the pain of the implant...

And a hearty welcome to Buzz! For me, I was told to wait two weeks beyond the implant surgery before we could program the permanent implant. Mine is PJ. Once the surgical pain had eased, the reason for waiting a couple of weeks, we got together, the rep, his computer, PJ and me, and we set about to program. I did not experience shocks during the waiting period which preceded programming as the unit was shut down completely until that programming appointment.

Sitting in the appointment, the rep said something like "I know you are somewhat computer savvy. What do you think about driving the computer as you program yourself?" I could think of NO BETTER way to approach this as pain is absolutely subjective to the sufferer. I am absolutely impatient at games of 20 questions, so I took up the rep on the thought. Sat at the computer as he adjusted the connection to my remote which sat in a programming cradle as I recall. Then, I proceeded to WOW myself with this change, that tweak, such a charge up, and a variety of programs. Rep asked what I thought, and I was good to go!! Never have had to have one of those frequently mentioned tweak sessions you read about on these threads.

I use my unit 24/7, charge every 10 days to 2 weeks, and live LIFE. I have been able to secure work, albeit pro bono for now, and I feel re-enlivened! Awakened from a Sleepy Hollow slumber, removed from the prison of my bed where I had lain in pain, and returned to living in joy and celebration of God's miracles.

You can call me grateful while I pray your surgical pain abates so you can reach that moment of programming which will bring relief such as you have probably not known it in years!

So, "Buzz" it is! :cool:

You will probably be sore and tender for several days still. Hopefully 1 or 2 tweek sessions will get your stimulation straightened out.
So, what type of coverage are you needing? Mine is for lower extremeties.
I've had a few bumps along the way, but all in all I'm pretty happy with it.

The team that implanted my last week want me to name it. Apparently they are having a Christmas draw and you have to enter the name of your stim. It wouldn't have occurred to me otherwise. My first thought was to name it Laz in an irreverent nod to the Lazarus myth because if it does work it will be really like rising from the dead for me! Not sure though - something more science based might suit my personality better. I wonder who the scientist who invented the Nevro is? A small bit of googling was not illuminating. As I recover further from the procedure maybe I'll feel more like making an effort on this one.

Search Patents in Country of Origin
 

Wherever the invention patent is registered, that would be the place to conduct your research. In the US, it is the Patent and Trademark Office of the federal government, and a search takes some time and skill, but is doable. So maybe your Nevro literature indicates where it was invented, or your rep can help with the info so you can conduct the search.

I like the names for your buzzers! :) I truly missed my trail buzzer when it was removed. Six days -- and counting for my perm. I like Lazarus or "Laz" - thats a good one. Maybe I could name mine "man who took up his mat and walked". lol Miracle buzz or MB.
