Here's a fine example:....
I had my first get-together with several of my girlfriend buddies  shortly after I had my SCS implanted....I could sense a slight awkwardness in the air, as they weren't sure just how to go about asking about my unit....they knew nothing of what it actually IS.....finally, one of them piped up and said,  "SO!, Rae......um, how does that thing work ??? Like, if your battery runs low, will you slump over and should we PLUG you IN to something??" 
I laughed so hard, I forgot the words to 'Kumbaya' and my SCS surged so much that I about fell over!! 
Anyone ELSE have anything 'stupid' to share??

Rae, I really needed this thread and I agree with you that we should all keep our sense of humor during the time before, during and after the stim placement! I thought I would share the funniest thing that happened to me because maybe it would count as "SCS" and make people smile or laugh. When I first got my stim implanted in 2008 I went back to classes at college and had an interesting experience. Several of my professors had me give presentations about the stim and it was scary because I hate public speaking but at the same time I was so excited to have my stim I wanted to tell everyone about it! After my talks were done I was on my way to class when I was feeling pain and I turned up my stim well, I was not used to how it worked yet and walked right into the wall! And of course this was in front of people from my class and I felt really silly. I also have had many questions from friends and family regarding the stim and I don't mind answering them, at my grandma's house a few months ago I almost forgot my remote because my uncle had gotten it confused with the tv remote! He tried to change the channel and realized that it must be mine and ran out to our car. I have also accidentally brought the tv remote to school instead of the remote for my stim but that was usually during stressful times of finals! Hope me sharing that made you all smile and laugh

....couldn't get the TV to work! omg it's a good thing he didn't push the highest setting on your amplitude.....your legs could have shot straight up in the air and you'd have an AFRO!!
