Ooh hello my little fruit bon bons .. Sheesh .. the scar on my back is doing my head in! It's very red about half inch either side .. the District Nurse, who came yesterday to take the stitches out said that some had cut into my skin. Am currently sat here with just my jeans and bra on and Mike has put a line of Germolene antiseptic cream on to try and sooth it. OOoh it HURTS and burns like heck.

The appointment at the gnae place went really well. He was so lovely .. said he wasn't going to examine me whilst my back looked so sore and am booked into have an ultrasound and to take a biopsy then see him, on the 22nd. Now, this is the difference between private and NHS care in this country. All that would have probably take six months or more .. and yet, all this is taking weeks.

I know I will have to have another operation and I think that will be done before my birthday in May, if not before. Whereas if it were the NHS I would be waiting a year or more.

My first day on my own today .. spent most of it in bed reading and dozing .. being gentle .. and watching the rain pelt down the windows. (Hence my staying in bed all day!)

Tomorrow .. I might well venture to the local chemist and ask the pharmacist to look at my back and give me some advice.

I also need to contact the District Nurse as I need another enema de de de de de (sings)

*chuckles*

Love and kisses to you all ..

Smile Oh, you blessed woman you!

Humor, you experience the ick of dealing with that dire red mark on your back and you drown us in your pleasant sing song HUMOR.......... have you caught a deep case of Rae-itis? Are you taking humor as the way through this nasty time? I think so, and so be it. You with your Tootle and Tootle II soon healed going to and going fro. Once your incision is healed and you have that beautiful smile on your face....... would you be willing to take an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to ask our wogs in the Congress whether they have gone stark raving mad? Would you do this for your break away colonialist friends? You see, Congress is only capable of trying very hard to copy either Canada or the UK in medical reform. Of recent times they seem to have no clue. No idea how folks in your countries scratch your heads wondering why, WHY we try Congressionally and Presidentially to be just like you.... a National Health Care System with Private Care layered on top for those who can afford it?????????????????

I assure you in Washington, with your accent and all, being distinguished and sought after in this country, you WOULD BE HEARD. So, whaddya think dear friend...... do you feel like sharing your simple but true story about the wiles of UK medical care with the Fruits and Nuts we somehow freely elect to "represent" us the highest realm of this land?

No, I have not "yet" joined the Tea Party....... Just tempted to have a demonstrative schooner laden with tea sail into Boston Harbor, throw the lot overboard, knowing there would be fines, the EPA, the greenies with whom to deal trying to make a point.

Most importantly dear friend. May YOU Heal, Have Pain Free Days, and enjoy Spring out doors doing that which you enjoy.
Hugs a plenty,
Mark56

Heart Paralysis in legs.....

Hi Karen,
How are your legs now? I hope their feeling better I really do but if not will you go to Sheffield cause that isn't right, the soreness is normal especially when the scar gets tight but the oozyiness isnt right. If I were you I'd be talking to my Consultant and see what he says, do you have his mobile number or a way of contacting him.
God love you it isn't fair that you get all these problems after your surgery, it should be straight forward so you can lie on your bed and watch films or day time TV.

chat soon hun, Sinéad xxx

Heart Nutty Hopes

You, dear Karen, are long since in the care of Hospital where you must have treatment for paralysis, electric twinges where they do not belong, a suture gone awry, for all things amiss in your precious body, because you are dear to all of us and loved.

I actually Skyped with Sinéad, ah dear Sinéad, this very morning [afternoon where she is] as she awaits going to a far advanced Hospital which Doc says knows its "F stuff" and I so hope this is true for her and for you, Karen.

Prayers from across the pond,
Your Nutty friend who deeply cares

Cool

Hi Karen,

Did you get to Sheffield yet? (they may not have wifi) I do hope so.

I'm thinking go you. It was lovely to chat to our friend across the pond, mad he is not but a very nice gentleman and he even was introduced to Tigger, our Boxer dog who protects us day and night, but it was my Mam arriving to save me from the demons in my kitchen that desperately needed some saving.

I gotta go but I hope to hear from you soon Karen and I hope you're pain eases. My Dr is sending me for another MRI in a different hospital, I can't understand why he didn't do this in the first place and keeping me the usual hospital to look at and change my meds so I can have some better relief and then probably another SCS.

So that's all my news, and I'm thinking of you Karen.

Sinéad xxxx
