Default New dx

For years I've been trying to tell anybody who would listen that I hurt all over. They'd order x/Ray and usually show arthritis. And then there is my screwed up spine that I wanted SCS for. So Monday my still new pain doc tells me to stand, and with him behind me so I can't see, gently touches the 18 tender points. I nearly went through the roof on 16 of them.

I have fibro.

So while that explains a lot, there are things yet unanswered. The fibro board here isn't very active. Can I still push for SCS? Would it help? Should I wait as long as I can and do the lumbar surgery?

Old age ain't for sissies!

Heart Fibro

Aw Barb- I am so sorry that your DX came out this way. No, I do not know of fibro patients being recommended to SCS, and I lived next door to a fibro patient for 18 years who was right alongside Cleo and me as we went from doc to doc, surgery to surgery and ultimately SCS. Our neighbor spoke with us in great interest about the SCS, praying us along the way, and not once in all of our discussions did she venture forth with thoughts whether SCS could help her. I will ask her though.

Sorry to be no help here this time. I feel empty handed for you.
Prayin,
Mark56

Heart Oh Barb!

Me too! I feel the pain you speak of! Especially on rainy dreary days like today with low barometric pressure. I woke up this morning and couldn't MOVE! My whole body was racked with pain!
I have much more to say to you - but it's 3:00 a.m. here and I'm deadbeat tired! I'll share more later...
Hang in there.....take a day at a time. Today would have been a good day to soak in a nice and warm epsom salt bath....but I wasn't able to make that happen....
Caring!
Rae
