my eldest child healthy until 22 was discovered
and found her to be epileptic
two brain surgeries removal of some part
of the brain that left her blind in one eye
not successful back on dangerous meds
vns implant
just told me putting her on a low dose blood pressure meds
to help with her headaches

a blessing she was in the hospital
19 days
inducing seizures
is a blessing she is still on this earth

Mark, I think this thread is so wonderful and I hope you don't mind me adding to it. Congratulations on the baby news :) That is very good! I haven't been around much lately because I am dealing with other health issues and also family issues but I am trying to come back on here more! Anyway, I am very blessed because its almost been a year since I had my last surgery with the paddle leads and because of it I have been doing better overall. I still deal with pain issues but I am thankful each day I get to walk around and be able to do more! I am also blessed and very thankful for my wonderful husband and our wedding was the happiest day of my life! We have been through so many hard things and it just keeps proving to me how much he really loves me and how much I love him. I also really thankful and blessed to have such a great support system of family and friends and the fact they have been there for me when things have looked the darkest! I am also very thankful and blessed that I have my little puppy! I was so crushed after I could not have children and having her has really helped heal my heart and soul :) I just wanted to add my own blessings in and just also wanted to say that finding you all has been a very big blessing and has helped me so much during my journey with stim! Mark, I think you are such a wonderful and caring person thank you so much for being there for everyone and for starting this very positive thread :) You are all amazing :hug::grouphug:

This Thread belongs to the whole world... whoever will come and post blessings they feel and recognize. Its contagion is a good catch, far better than a cold, it is an infection of blessedness to recognize in each life how we are blessed.

You each bless me in so many ways too numerous to recount, but far more important than any other is the being here for one another in good times and hard ones, through sadness and JOY so overflowing we cannot contain it!!!!

I so look forward to Thanksgiving Eve next Wednesday: here is the situation, our pastor almost always brings us together that evening to express gratefulness for our blessings. She just returned from a mission trip to Rwanda, where on the day of arrival, she so badly wrenched her back she was confined to bedrest the entire time as our church team went from Kigali to Mudosommwah to share blessings with our sponsored children. I was in fear she would not be able to comfortably return via air, so I shipped a gift of one of our manufactured cushions to Rwanda for her use coming home. She was thrilled to have it, but is still in need of rest and therapy. She cannot lead the Thanksgiving Eve service.

I suggest last evening at worship team rehearsal we could have an "open mic" Thanksgiving Eve service where we each have freedom to approach and speak of the blessings for which we are thankful in celebration of the Thanksgiving time. The governing board of our church met this evening, at the urging of our pastor endorsed the idea, then asked me to facilitate the service! Now how humbling and blessed is that???? Being asked to entreat others among our congregation to share blessings for which they experience deep gratitude to God.... seems to me a fitting way to bring Thanksgiving home to the heart. Thus, I will look forward to it ever the more.
