Just had it implanted in July but I am experiencing significant relief in my feet, legs and somewhat in my lower back. It is definitely something you will have to get used to but well worth it so far. My only true complaint is that it doesn't even touch my hip pain and the area where they implanted the unit is still sensitive to the touch. Also, you can feel the unit through my skin, it is a pretty significant lump. And I am not a small person, there is plenty of meat to cover it. lol Well, and I also constantly lose my remote. lol

Hi V8euphoria,
Thank you for replying to my thread I appreciate it. I've noticed that you are new to posting and I'd like to welcome you to our corner of cyberspace. If you don't mind I looked at your profile and you certainly have been through the mill and have had your fair share of pain and all the surgeries and agony that goes with it. We are a friendly supportive group of people here from the US, Ireland & the UK where these implants are available, maybe we have we have a Language barrier in other countries but I doubt it.. You are welcome and we value your imput. Wishing you the very best and I hope we'll here more from you. I too have loads of pain in my hips, it's like a ring of pain around my hips and my sacro illiac joints are a right mess too. It's one of those agonising pains that tend to be ignored by some Dr's and Lord knows why! Love & God bless Sinead ![]() I meant to say the discomfort where they implant the battery does ease off alot that you can easily push it it in whatever way you move, I noticed that when I bend to tie my shoes I sometimes have to move it inwards but it doesn't hurt or anything! Welcome to our family of buzz users! Sinead is so right, there are folk here who truly care and bring the best of humanity to the notion of dealing with pain, and sometimes we get kinda crazy with humor, such as having a cyber BBQ impromptu to relieve the stress of dealing with pain.
As for my, I am also a Boston Sci, having received mine about a year earlier than you. The tenderness, swelling, and pain you do notice for the implant computer and battery, as Sinead wrote, will decline as you heal, and then all of a sudden, VOILA, there you will be not as sensitive to it, able to touch it and not go "oh, that is gross" and the swelling will have diminished. You write of euphoria, and I must agree this is the state of being I recognized when during the Trial my wife asked how I felt, and I started crying because I did not feel any nerve pain. Euphoria! I like that. I feel blessed. Thank you for venturing here V8! Mark56 ![]() |

Welcome to this lovely forum. Here you will get all the information you need as you can see just from the above posts!.... I hope the tenderness eases off soon for you. I too can feel the battery in my upper left butt! ![]() My SCS is a St Judes ANS Eon Spinal Cord Stimulator.......To date I have it just over a year now. I find that I have some relief in my legs but not in my actual lower back. It can be turned up quite high when I lie down and it sometimes reaches that bit higher than my hips but its too uncomfortable at that stage that I have to turn it down again. But I will say that I am definitely more relaxed than I used to be with it, which is a bonus. I dont have that awful feeling of dragging all the time because I feel like Im being massaged when Im lying down , like now!! Sorry its more than a line! oooops ![]() Jackie ![]() |

And HELLO to V8! I sent you a visitor message on your profile page!
![]() I have a Medtronic unit in my lumbar for leg/back pain. I'm very happy with it. I'd say it covers about 75% of the neuropathy pain. I didn't really have a choice in which manufacturer to get. My Dr's vendor was Medtronic and that was that....... from what I'm seeing, it seems Boston Scientific is the more mainstream, so I'd probably toot my horn for them ...... I just hope the Medtronic Butt-Buzz police don't come get me for saying this ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Well Rae, if the Medtronic police begin to sail in your direction, we will have to sail our pirate craft up some thread of water to Toto land and blast them a broadside! JoanB to the guns!! Hoist the Jolly Roger!! Sinead, bring the rum up from below decks. [oh no, wait a minute, the below deck is only one deck on my craft...... well, we'll save booty and get something larger].
