![]() ![]() for answering your questions with this type of bedside manner! Good Lord! What kind of answers are these! He should at least explain what may have happened. There's a good chance that scar tissue might be the culprit. Once it forms and changes shape, it could possibly move your leads over a tiny fraction causing the change in stimulation. I'm so sorry about this and I feel your frustration. It seems there are so many instances where revision is necessary. Why can't this procedure be more simple than this! ![]() You have every right to vent and complain.....that's what we're here for, right. Caring, Rae ![]() |

The way I feel about this was shared about a certain coach and game official in a basketball game about which I wrote on Kelly's thread. I probly shouldn't reiterate it, as it may tend to inflame things.........
Sorry about your situation, so sorry..... Mark56 ![]() |

I'm so sorry and I know the frustration you must be going through. Personally, I do not regret at all going back for the second surgery to move my leads down, because I'm much better off now. I still had the stimulation in my legs where I needed it, but then I, too, developed it in the stomach/back area which was extremely uncomfortable and stronger in that area than in my legs. My leads didn't move, and my doctor still doesn't know what happened to cause it. In the OR, he kept moving them down little by little and had the rep ask me where I felt it. It took awhile before it was out of my stomach and even then still the top half of the leads have it there, so they had to set up the programming on the bottom half. My doctor was very surprised by how much they had to be moved, I think it was from T3/T4 to T8/T9 if I remember right. But you shouldn't have to live with being uncomfortable like that

Sorry you're needing a revision surgery for your SCS system. I hope it does help and they get the lead positioned and stabalized so this won't be a recurring problem.
I am having my perm system put in the day before you 4/25 at 7:30 am. I will say a prayer for you that your surgeon be successful and the pain be covered well. ![]() Have a quick and uneventful recovery. |

Good luck tomorrow with your NEW perm stimulator. As we recover together we can send pain free vibes back and forth to each other. LOL ![]() Thanks for the vote of confidence for the revision surgery. As you can imagine I'm pretty skeptical. Will this work--won't this work?? BUT I do think positively most of the time Sooooo only time will tell. Good luck!!!! ![]() |

bcyak, good luck tomorrow! I hope everything goes very well for you and that you're buzzing and in less pain very soon!
And Lynn, good luck on Thursday! I know how disheartening it is to have to go through a revision surgery and to have to do the recovery and the restrictions all over again. I really hope the moving of the leads will help for you and make things better. Make sure that when you're in the OR you're vocal about where exactly you're feeling it and that your doctor spends enough time moving the leads to get it right. Like I said with my revision it took quite awhile because my doctor had to move the leads a lot farther than he expected, but he listened to my responses and made sure it was right before he closed me up, so I hope your doctor does the same ![]() |
