Default Losing my car.

You all know I love Tootle. the doctor advised yesterday that until I am fitted with a new stim and can cut down on my meds, I shouldn't be driving.

Default I am so sad for you

Oh, dear Saffy, I am feeling sad for you and Tootle. I understand as well, because given my situation, I have not driven now for quite a while because we never know when my arms will stop working..... besides the pain is too distracting to concentrate on driving, We seem a bit in the similar boat these days.

I am glad to be able to work from home. It keeps my spirits up and I feel as though I am accomplishing something.
Prayin for ya,
Mark56

Frown Sorry

Saffy, I'm so sorry that you can't drive right now. None of us likes to have any of our independence taken away, especially since all of us here have already lost things like jobs, ability to participate in activities we once enjoyed, etc. I'll be praying that this is only a temporary measure, and that very soon you will get that pain under control and be able to cut back (or maybe even eliminate) the meds so that you can drive again!

Big hugs,
Jan

DEAR FRIEND

i pray your independence
is still in your life
it will be in other ways
i still need to be driven
meds later in the day
dangerous for all
to painful and i need
my meds
my passion
my bliss
has been taken from me
still trying to accept
it is what it is

In the last 5 years, I got behind the wheel about three times. Too dangerous for me, as well as others since too painful to sit behind wheel and turn myself; especially to the left. Also, with all the meds....not safe for anyone. Pain Doctor signed for parking placard; but said "you aren't driving...are you???? I told him I wasn't; but that it was much easier with husband being able to park close and walk with me. That's just the way it is. Do miss the independence; but am fortunate to have someone to do the driving.

I think I will feel better once Tootle is off of the drive .. This Friday. I first thought I wouldnt want to be there, but I've decided I'm going to give the man the keys and watch my little friend drive away.

He's in fabulous condition and has only done 9000 miles, so when sold on, someone will get a bargain as I've keep him immaculate.

Hopefully once I have my stim and cut down on the meds ... Which I am trying to do as of now ... Not too quick as I do t want the withdrawal but I need that car after my next stim.

TOOTLE I love you and miss you ... Drive safe.

I haven't driven for ten years now and it sucks. I am really honked because the state cut me off from Mediaid subsidized medical transportation again. The last time it happened, it took me five years to get it back. I'm pretty stubborn. The problem before the house is that the state computer says I still have a car and am evidently still driving it without a license, plates or insurance. My daughter totalled the car years ago and I went down to the court house and filled out the paperwork to officially total it out. It's still in the computer. I finally thought I got it straightened out and got reinstated six months ago. It's a real problem paying for taxis.

The big joke is that I received notice that I am in some sort of trouble for driving w/o auto ins. After receiving the letter, I called the idiot who sent it to me and told her my story. She said I needed to go in person to the bank which originally financed the car 19 years ago and get a certified copy of the title. I never got one when I paid the car off. That's 150 miles from here. Next I am supposed to go to the courthouse (40 miles away) and get a copy of the paperwork from when it was totalled. I did all of that before, twice, but the papers are in storage in my daugther's garage. My bad, I know. I told her I wouldn't do that again and they needed to send a wheelchair friendly vehicle when they picked me up and while they were at it, they better find a jail with a female medical unit because I don't have bail money. I have reached a point where I would love to go to court and talk to a judge.........after notifying the media.

Because this just seems wrong in the worst kind of way.
