Heart Amen! And a request...

Hi Everyone,

Just want to add an Amen to Mark's message, and let you all know that I pray for you daily as I read through the posts, even though I'm not always able to respond to each one.

Sorry I've been somewhat absent lately. Lots going on here with my family. Last week my young nephew, Devin (20 yrs. old) had an emergency appendectomy and did fine through the surgery, but the dr. noticed that his appendix was abnormally large, so ran some tests. Found out Devin has cancer of the colon, so this Monday they removed about a foot of his colon, also discovering that the lymph nodes were swollen in that area, so now we're waiting to find out if the cancer has spread. We should know tomorrow, and if so, he will have to undergo chemotherapy. Of course we are all heartsick about this, but Devin remains hopeful and is willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of the cancer and get on with his life! He got a new dirt bike the day before his appendix attack, so of course he's chomping at the bit to get out of the hospital and hop on that bike as soon as possible. He's such a loving, funny, amazing kiddo--I know that he and all of us who love him would SO appreciate your prayers!

May the Lord bless and comfort each of you, and wrap His loving arms around you and your loved ones. He truly does loves us so very much.

Big, big hugs,
Jan

Heart Thus now we pray for Devin

A lad who has
a thing for fun
may like pizazz
when on the run

So dirt bike waits all shiny new
and soon will carry mud like glue

For God who lays His hand of grace
will guide the care of he who now
waits pensive wanting his own space
to ride, and jump, and motor, WOW

So dirt bike waits all shiny new
and soon will carry mud like glue

Sure he may lose the hair he has
and feel the chemo course body through
while God lifts up young man who hath
the faith to wait while illness will lose

So dirt bike waits all shiny new
and soon will carry mud like glue

Then illness gone, and life restored
a man we pray will venture on
to share his time with God for others, more
who need to learn a battle came and victory won

So dirt bike waits all shiny new
and soon will carry mud like glue

Yup Jan, we pray for Devin and God's healing grace. There are many difficult trials of life, and in some cancer is a trial which is overcome through the treatments administered. For our niece, Dee, still so young, a single Mom who has done extremely well in raising her son, we are so thrilled to report metastasized cancer has succumbed to treatment and she now lives in remission. She did have the chemo, and did lose the hair, and felt ill through it all, but bore up strong and well, and by God's grace is here and a blessing.

May your blessing be manifest indeed,
Praying for ALL whose names were not mentioned in this post as well,
Mark56

Heart Dearest Jan

I am so sorry to read about your nephew and how he is suffering with cancer. Its awful to read how such a young person has to go through this. So I pray that you will get good news and that he will get out on his dirt bike very very soon.

Eva so glad to hear that little Eva is back with her mom. Im sorry to hear that you are suffering today and I pray that you too will get some relief and respite from you pain. Rest as much as you

When I come on here and read the posts I do feel lucky. Lucky to have met you all and to be part of this wonderful group. But also I feel lucky because when I read some of the posts I feel so sad. So many of you have so much to go through and I just dont know how you get through it all. Not only have you one thing to contend with but heaps of ailments. Its so unfair. We have to believe that GOD is watching over us and the power of prayer is amazing. But there are times when its hard to keep on this belief when you hear so many suffer so much and some so much more than others. But we continue to pray and continue to support each other. I feel bad when I complain because mine is 'nothing' compared to some of you here and others who suffer, so Im grateful to GOD for the life he has given me and I pray that all of you will get relief from you worries and woes......

Take care everyone

Jackie

Heart So grateful for you all...

Wow....what a blessing you all are! Thanks so much for your prayers and your wonderful supportive and kind words regarding my sweet nephew, Devin. Mark, I absolutely LOVE the poem!! Of course it brought many happy and grateful tears. I will definitely pass it along to my brother and his family (especially Devin!), if that's ok with you.

Today's been a rough one for our boy. His colon isn't functioning like it should yet, and they had to put in a tube through his nose to his stomach (NG tube). He's experiencing quite a bit of pain as well, and I know it's so very difficult for my brother and sis-in-law to have to helplessly stand by. Brings back many memories of those days, weeks, months when my precious Tee boy was in the hospital, so ill.

All we can do is pray, but praying is the best solution anyway! We are still waiting to hear the results of the lymph node biopsy....guess we will have to wait until tomorrow to know anything. And as you all know, waiting is the hardest thing of all.

Thanks again for your prayers....I can't even put into words what a comfort that is.

Love, hugs, prayers...
Jan

Default Hi Eva

Gerry is at home recovering. I heard from her earlier this week. She lacks strength, but is doing OK. No lymph involvement with her cancer. I will keep in touch with her as often as I can.
My upper GI didn't turn out so good. I have several new conditions. waiting for biopsy. It is called eosinophilic esophagitis, on top of berretts, and hernia. I go for council this coming wed, to see what can be done to help me. It is another auto immune condition. I think of you and NT daily, ginnie :
