Hey Spine,
Well, at least the psych eval. went okay for you. So sorry to hear about your horrible pain, though. I remember having to crawl to the bathroom when I first injured my back, and it was a real "bummer" The worst part was trying to get up ON the toilet...yikes! I'm glad you have your helper, Judy, to assist you and hopefully get you a bit more comfortable. Thinking of you today, my friend, and praying that you will soon be experiencing a whole lot less pain!

Gentle hugs,
Jan

Default Hi Spine!

What a thrill to read your eval produced the results you needed, although pain is outta sight. May the balance of your ordeal be authorized and planned sooner than you would have thought!

So glad you have a Homebound Angel!!
Caring,

Hi spine
I wish they could have made you more comfortable during your psych evsl. I was lucky, the Dr I had had a recliner, foot rests and pillows. She was very concerned about my comfort level before she ever got started. I'm glad the eval went well. I hope they can expedite the scs implant for you. Glad you have help at home .

The psych said he would be sending a positive response to Pain Man and advised me not to discuss my concern about the Fibro rejecting the implant with the surgeon. He said he was concerned about the possibility, given my history, but he said that since the trial was a total success, I deserved the chance as long as I knew there could be a rejection. He said it would take a week for Pain Man to get the results of the testing as he scored them by hand rather than using computer software.

I tripped using the rollator last night. I don't know exactly what happened but I got my feet all tangled in the darn thing and went down. Now the top of my right foot is really bruised. I guess I need to stay in the wheelchair for a while. Geesh.

Pain is off the chart. Yesterday, I couldn't get off the bed to go to the bathroom so I had to scooch to the edge of the bed and slide down. Then I had to crawl to the bathroom as I couldn't stand upright. I hate it when it gets that bad. I can't use pull ups as they break me out, regardless how often I change them. They make me sweat badly which sets me up for fungal infections and UTIs.

Send those prayers up. I hope the fog doesn't give me an inaccurate MMPI. Here we go!!!!

Heart Wheelchairs

OK for needful getting around. I have a couple, one for short being pushed and one for pushing myself. I rather like the independence of pushing myself, but that right arm is still testy, so I am letting it heal before giving it a go.

But SPINE, reading of your fall and bruise...... caring and concern poured out here!!
Yup,

Thanks, Pal. I am supposed to stay in the wheelchair but it is rather hard in this small apt. I'm not complaining, mind you, as it is a nice apt. especially given that it is section 8.

Now, if the town would just get some voucher money so I didn't have to pay fair market value. HUD passes out brick and mortar money like candy and these senior/handicapped buildings are going up all over the place. We move in and are told the money will be here in a few months and to hold on...............and on and on. The only upside is we DO get maximum foodstamps since our housing is so high. Of course, we haven't had a foodstamp increase around here in five years and we all know what food prices have done in the last five years. Our farmers' markets don't take food stamps in this area. I can't blame them as that only increases their operational expenses and they don't need that. Folks are fussing enough about produce prices.

The scs will not do anything about the nerve damage that causes the falls but it I could go into the rehab hospital for two weeks of bootcamp PT, I could get a good deal of use of my legs back. Medicare won't pay for it as they no longer cover mobility issues, quality of life or pain. After I get the scs, I am going to try to get outpatient PT at the hospital across the street. Right now, Medicare won't approve that as I don't improve fast enough to suit them. My hope is that they will give me another chance when the pain levels come down and I can work harder, faster. That's the battle plan, anyhow. I will be considered "post op" which will help somewhat. Back to sleep now. Y'all be good.
