One time I was exempted from the testing, and because it was a surgery occurring within 30 days of the next most previous surgery I experienced. The two surgeries were close enough in time, even the med center felt it was not necessary to "put me through more."

Last March I had a microdiscectomy,,,,two weeks later my SCS trial and two weeks after that my SCS implant. I only had to re do my bloodwork/EKG after 30 days passed which they almost missed.
We do have to keep track of these things and speak up...not always easy ..Spine you seem to go over all your mental lists for every scenerio...keep at it for your own mental relief so you can go into surgery with less anxiety.

Thanks. These "little" details can have big consequences. Don't need that. The consequences have a way of popping up after I get home........all alone. Not good. Have a great day.

Default Good News

Orders for pre-op testing are in the mail and it will all be done across the street. It looks like there was a mistake somewhere. I am not going to make a big deal out of it as anyone can make a mistake...........once. I did tell the most appologetic surgeon that they had made their one mistake. He said he heard and understood what I was saying. We rang off on a good note. Ah, details.

Heart Saved by Grace

You, my friend, dispensed grace in a situation where need was real. My goodness, one would almost think a "neglected senior" was engaged in outreach which is meaningful...... GOOD JOB!

AND, I am feeling relieved and glad you now have pre op work on task.

Whew

in some cases i am sure lives have
been taken or mammed
i am sorry
as you are right mark
gracious she was
and yes we are human
in situations like this
no room for mistakes
how many times do we
go to the hospital for
a up coming surgery
you are asked every question
a person could stand to do it again
verbally over and over and over again
just to make sure they got the information
right
and then they operate on the wrong part
of the body
oh my friend
i never want to be short with anyone
in the medical field
they screwed up when i was there for CORISSA
25 days
my child SARAEVE could have died giving her the wrong meds
when i was in the hospital 19 days a i'm sorry

i think you understand my frustration
and then there was me not once not twice
but three times
and all three are screw-ups in one way or another

forgive me
