Hate the ignorance [ QUOTE=MessyMark;1008343]OK I have had some interaction with some of you and some of you have looked in on things I have posted and I thank you for doing so. Today has been very frustrating for me it seems as though there is always a problem with this doctors office when it comes time to renew my meds one nurse in particular mind you I have been dealing with all this crap since 2010 and this one nurse for as long as well. So today she returned my call as always in a timely fashion kudos their. But she always is insinuating that I take more than needed what I was prescribed (which I never do because I don't like the feeling I get when taking the meds period but they help with the pain) So today she started he routine ritual of saying so and I abruptly & rudely stopped her in the middle of her little spiel and asked her if she had a problem that required her to take any pain meds at all? snidely she replied I do not! I then continued to let her know that her and I have done this dam dance on the phone more then 200 times an truthfully and honestly I was very sick and tired of it and told her the next time she tries to say I was taking more then what I am suppose to that I would have no problem going out and buying a big bag of weed to deal with the pain instead of having to listen to her ******** anymore and I will be talking with the doctor when I come in this month for a visit.
It is plainly written on the prescription bottle that I am to take 2 pills a day along with the three other meds I am on. I could see if I had a history of taking pain meds and abusing them but I do not I could see if I was calling a week in advance to have them filled again I again am not matter of fact I am a day late for refilling them. So needless to say with the pain I'm in and the mood she put me in and of course me running my mouth because of the fact I was tired of her crap and I ticked her off with my comments she now turns around an tells me that the doc will be in tomorrow and she will put it on his desk and we will have to see what he wants to do. Really ? Little did she know that earlier this morning I already had spoken with the same doctor that she was speaking about for a different reason (his referral to the other doc cause of my insurance) and he told me no problem I'm going to be in the office all day if you would like to come and pick it up or i can fax it to you ? ( told him to fax it please its almost a 45 mile round trip for me ) which he did. So I know she is lying about him not being there. Wondering what her reaction is going to be when I walk in with this same fax and time stamp on it and explain the conversation he and I had earlier that morning ? Also wondering if she will have a job after all this comes out seeing she is delaying patients the care that not only the pay for or they need ! BTW thank you for taking the time to read all my venting if you made it this far [/QUOTE] |

Hi Eva,
Speaking of having scripts filled........ the new thing in my community ......... no longer do docs hand you a written script to be filled. If you want/need a script, they will ONLY send it electronically directly to your pharmacy. They also check your pharmacy record everytime they submit a script. The patient no longer can leave the doc's office and decide whether to fill a script or not. Unless you decline it before you leave the doctor's office, it will be filled. Of course, you have the option, NOT to pick it up. Docs no longer have "prescription pads" in my area. Oh, another new thing here is even though a script is "valid" for a year, docs will only authorize refills for about 3 months. They can be refilled beyond that time frame but the pharmacy MUST contact the physician's office for authorization. It has become very strict getting ANY type of script filled. This even applies to a script for blood sugar test strips, anything by prescription. Anti-hypertensives, cholesterol meds, anything. I asked the pharmacist if this was because of the doc, a pharmacy policy, an insurance stipulation, a state regulation, or because of ObamaCare and I was told they did not know why but it was across the board with all scripts and docs. I have 4 different docs prescribing my meds for my various conditions and from various specialties so I know it is NOT doc specific. Maybe it is a new state regulation. I would be curious to hear from others on Neuro if they have experienced anything similar in different areas of the US. |

Here when I go to my pain specialist some of my Meds are e-faxed to the pharmacy then I MUST SEE HIM ONCE A MONTH AND GET A SCRIPT FOR MY HARD CORE MEDS I AM HANDED the written script then take it to my pharmacist to fill Now changes are happening And I suspect that there might be a crack down on those who take hard core drugs and are abusing it also it has become a new way of getting a high I myself am on opiates and on Meds from my physiotherapist To answer your question yes there have been changes only thing it is backwards here the Meds e-faxed are the Meds that do not offer a high to the abusers the drug world out of control I pray you have your Meds needed for your body and mind May life be good to you I have a spiritual side a copeing method in my everyday life with constant guidance as some days are way to tough God bless and be well Someone who cares

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this, Mark. Someone in pain shouldn't have this much problem getting meds.....unless of course there is a Heifer working in the office There seems to be one of these in many offices. I'll withhold the language that I'd 'really' like to use regarding these heartless types.
Pooh said it very well regarding how to go about the grievance with this lady.....go straight above her head. My concern for you is that there is a possibility that this nurse's input 'might' end up in your file somehow - regarding your relationship with her. Things she could possibly embellish or exaggerate, using words such as 'argumentive patient regarding pain meds...' etc. This is something that could possibly raise a red flag wherever your records will be sent. WE all know what you are experiencing and the frustration (and lack of pain relief IMHO), but maybe there is another 'COW' in this new place you will be going to and she might take the grievance and run with it. I certainly hope this won't happen and I doubt it will, but I have seen it happen, especially in a smaller community. At your next eval, try being ridiculously nice to her , all the while you are handling the grievance in the higher ups.... I know! I am probably spouting stupidity, but I do care I'm pushin for ya and I pray this will work out better than you'd even believe! Rae |

I think Rrae is spot on. You need to report this person, so that anything she might say negative would not be used against you in your records. I have had a number of things on my records that I had a fit over. You don't want to experience that. I hope you get the help you need. ginnie
