Unhappy The waiting game :(

Now playing the hurry up ad wait game while my insurance decides if I can get the nerve ablation and battery replacement. Days are very long and nights are even longer. Have been sitting in the hot tub for a little longer then recommended. Also taking enough Ibuprofen, Tylenol etc. topping it off with Carafate and Nexium

Cool Smirk Well....

Blue is the color I am.... My pain doc's nurse ( then pt who is a nurse was called by a nurse who works for her pain doc?!?) Such craziness in my brain, tired so very tired... Anywho I had a choice of 2 dates to change my battery. Chose March 23, this is also my fathers birthday... he is not doing well, he has had multiple heart surgeries and procedures. He now is in renal failure, multiple debates as to what the next plan is, but I digress. Am scheduled to have my H&P Friday. Surgery on the 23rd. Have to be in that far away city for surgery check in @ 5:30 am, takes 4 hours to get there so will be a night before in big city. The other choice was April 1st, not even going to go there....See another doc in the far away city on Thursday, work ER Tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Pre and post op in OR on Tuesday the FINALLY on Wednesday I have a day with nothing scheduled or planned ( may need to have a mommy, daughter, grandson day. How different it is to have my "monster" who will be 8 in May and a grandson who will be 1 in June. Sometimes my life is hard to understand, sometimes watching a 7 year old little lady care for a 9 month old little man makes a heart better soo I think this old nurse needs about a year or 2 with those activities to heal my heart....
Soo as far as the nerve ablation, the "insurance company" has decided in all of its wisdom had decided despite all of the previous information and the "torture tests" that I must repeat such but as of this date the earliest they might consider this is after July of this year So even though they know that that nerve is not covered by the SCS the ablation is not "medically necessary"
until it is proved once again that the SCS will not cover ....
Oh what fun we have......
Enough of my rant and fussing

HUGZ and luv

so sorry
just having to feel the pain
drives me nuts when i read
situation a person must go through
as if it weren't enough already
you plow through
because it is who you are
just wish whatever it be
it goes smoothly
just once
oh what a great feeling

Default Countdown

Counting down the days to my surgery. Did last week ok, Yesterday I just couldn't do it again, requested to be "on call" instead of working ER, body was just not able to do another day. Worked for about 9 hours in pre and post-op. Just to make my life better I slipped in the hottub and broke my 2nd and 3rd toe on my right foot. Of course no fix other then to tape together. So I am gimping up and down the halls of my world. Just for kicks and grins I wore a pedometer on a slow day in Pre-post op walked 2 miles that day So today was a busy day I am an OLD LAME NAG
Talked to the admissions office of the lovely hospital that I am doing my surgery in on Monday, tomorrow I will in all likely hood talk with the pre-admission nurse. Also talked with pain docs nurse she tells me that they will not turn on my unit or program it for 11 days Things suck now, I will need a short stay in the nurse loony bin for that time.....
Send prayers plz

Hope all goes well with the procedures. I find it very strange that you have to undergo the "testing" each time. I had the ablation in November for C4, C5 & C6. When I had the check up the PM told us that when it wears off just to book straight in to have the procedure done again. We were told it could last anywhere between 3 months to 2 years. After the last few days we are wondering if it has worn off already, but we won't give up hope yet.

All the best,

Phil

Heart Prayerz

PRAYING!!!!

Feeling sad you have this awful situation AND the necessity to prove ablation medical necessity!!!! Oh the pain, the pain. I so pray this will be better managed for you.

I bet " monster" is growing into a blessing for you and family, and
, well.....just hope she is a ray of sunshine.

May your trip from Nowhere to Faraway be safe, and oh so helpful to you, may they treat you WELL, and may you come to know this friend does NOT see you as a "nag."

HUGZ and prayers a plenty,
God watch over YOU,
M56

Oh Pooh; things can only improve; but 11 days before turning on your unit..ouch!! The only thing that can help now is to think positive, positive, positive thoughts knowing once the unit is turned "on"......relief will be on the horizon.
Many prayers and thoughts coming your way.
