It has taken me months to get to this point. I have tried Nerve Blocks, Meds, weight loss, meditation, oils, energy healer and even a Shaman. I am exhausted. I have lost my life that I once knew living in the caribbean, and now I am back in Virginia living doctor appointment to dr. appt. My savings is gone and I am no longer able to live alone because I cannot take care of myself & my dogs. I am only 34 years old.
I have finally agreed to consider the SCS. I tried to read through some of the threads but just got confused. So here are my questions: 1) Can you generally chose your SCS or is your office represented by a company? If you can chose, which are the best? 2) Can you get pregnant & continue pregnancy with the SCS 3) Is it worth it? 4) What questions should I ask my Dr next week? Please refrain from the super negative stories. I am working hard to stay positive and have found that this has greatly improved my pain. Thank you all |

If you haven't posted the SCS questions on the RSD forum that also might be good to get more input from those there that tried or have SCS.
There is a risk of spread with any invasive treatment.. Blocks and care can be taken but fully learn about the pros & cons before you get into too far..

Hi Inspire, and welcome to this sharing place.
JoMar gives good counsel. Taking steps to discover and learn before leaping is vital to your course of treatment. I have been careful in my journey, and it is a good thing. You can find much of my journey if you search under my moniker Mark56 and focus on BostonScientific, the device implanted in me. Up in the Stickies at the head of this forum you can find links to my very lengthy story. My doc....well, one of them diagnosed devolution of my condition to RSD. Ok. I can deal. Heck, I take life a little at a time, and was able to resume my career. The questions you pose whether SCS can interfere with child bearing are truly best answered by your doc. Hoping for you the very best, A five year post surgical SCS recipient, and glad of it, M56 ![]() |
