Question Can men get cysts?

There isn't a forum for questions about MALE health so I figured I'd post this here and perhaps get some suggestions. Basically I'm just asking for prayers, as well as curious, anxious to know what is causing it all.....my 28 yr old son is having a sonogram done next Monday on his testicles. One has turned hard and tender. He went to family dr. yesterday and the dr. said that it MIGHT be from the virus head cold that he had a couple weeks ago, but he'd never seen that connection to this extent. He also mentioned that sometimes other non-cancerous things can cause it too. Being female, I don't really know all THAT much about the male reproductive parts! LOL

all males should be doing a monthly check of their testicles..like we do for our breast. especially young males.

they can get infections...foliculytis (spelledthat totally wrong), cysts.

i'll see if i still have the link, but lance armstrong has a site about testicular cancer. his story.

i'm glad he was smart enough to go get it checked. men tend to blow off stuff like this.

btw..men get breast cancer too.

update on this thread...my son had the ultrasound done and ended up having testicle removed on Jan 25th. We've since received pathology results showing stage 2 testicular cancer. Next step is seeing oncologist next wk. Say some prayers

Default It wasn't a cyst

I'm sorry that I'd kinda forgotten about starting this thread in here. There's a thread in the Sanctuary for Support titled "please pray for our son" that explains all the trials that we've endured over the past couple of months. My son had surgery in January to remove the testicle and tumor which is malignant. Last week he began his first of 2 rounds of chemo. It is stage I cancer, doesn't appear to have spread outside of the testicle area. He's having very few side effects, just tiredness.
Please...all men...learn how to check yourselves regularly like us ladies check for lumps in the breasts. Testicular cancer is the number one cancer of men under age 35 !!!
