I am sorry you're having such a rough time BMW, I wish your hubby finds it on his own that he feels better WITH the CPAP then he does without, I have used it every night I can and I feel it when the mask goes off in the middle of the night and I have put it back on because it really makes me feel better breathing through it. I hope you both have a great weekend, I will be busy packing and organizing, not that we have much of that left.

Man I am tired today, around midnight my nose clogged up and woke me up and I had to take the mask off, man it was terrible trying to sleep without it. I had the worst time with my breathing, and I am so tired today! I can't see how your hubby doesn't feel tired after not using the machine, I definitely feel it after three good hours of sleep to 6 more without it, my throat was like paper and my tongue all yucky, I won't miss using it again if my nose lets me. Best wishes to you and your husband BMW.

hi pamster----i am having the same problem with the air filling up in my mouth..it is such an uncomfortable feeling.i am waking up at 3 am every morning with the paper mouth too..last night with the heat i couldn't even have the mask on.. the sweat was pouring down my face and filling up in the nose mask.i ripped the whole thing off and spent the whole am crying...it is such a b---ch when you try so hard to do everything to feel somewhat more awake and all i have are more added stress and depresion --i fail at all i do--maybe i should just let things be and whatever happens will happen?? at least it will be over! moonstar

Hi moonstar,

Does your machine have a heated humidifier? Mine does and I set it at 3 (out of a possible 6) and have found that it's not too hot and it's not too cold. I am really sorry you're having such a terrible time of it. I wish I had the answers, I don't use a full mask, but have found that the chin strap is the only way I can sleep anymore.

Maybe you could get one? They are relatively inexpensive and I wonder if it might help you to not wake up with paper mouth, I get that if I don't wear it and the nasal mask. I wish you a restful sleep tonight, I hope it gets better. How long has it been that you've had the machine? It's been so good for me to hear it's not working out for you really makes me feel for you moonstar.

hi pamster...i am so glad your machine is working for you..gives me a glimmer of hope that it might start working for me too.. mine does have the heated humidifier too..i usually have it set at 2.i will try a higher settiing and see if it helps some. when i do get sleep with it is working--i know because i do dream..wish they were good dreams but can't have everything ..should be happy with the few hours of deep sleep i do get now..but the depression seems to be taking over these days..i am not so sure a chin strap will help me at this point..i seem to get so hot a sweat so much that i believe it will make me sweat more..and feel really closed in.. the nose mask has been filling up with sweat( gross but true) i pull it off constantly and have to wipe my face and actually empty the mask of it..then have to try to get back to restful sleep again--not an easy task--
i have had my machine since april 27..so it has been about a month now..maybe it takes a little longer for me to get use to it..how long did it take for you?? i am not sure if the sweatiing is froom my perimenopause..or from my rsd..or just another problem added on to my full plate..the drs have no answers for me (as usual) all tests come back with ???? results...
hope you have a peaceful night's sleep too--thanks for caring--it helps alot to know that i am not so alone with this mess..but on the other hand hurts to know that you and many others have to be going thru the same ...peace and happiness to you--moonstar

Thanks for the caring words moonstar, I really apprecaite it, I know you're having trouble with the machine. I don't have a sweating issue most of the time, but i have woken up in a sweat usually on the nights I haven't been using it, like when I have taken it off. I woke up a little sweaty, I think because I had the comforter over my shoulder and it was a little warm in the apartment.

But I put it back on for awhile and all seemed to be well until my son woke me up-LOL-hehehehe, but maybe you're right, that the strap wouldn't help you. I depend on it to be able to breathe through my nose, but if you 've got a full mask you should be getting better results, or so I would think. I think it took me about a month before I got real used to using it so hang in there, I hope it gets better for you soon moonstar.
