Default Undiagnosed and distressed

Hi Everyone,
Im new here, Iris, and I have been dealing with this sleep disorder for a few years and it's wearing me thin because there is no formal diagnosis. Just wondering if anyone else can relate to this...
I cycle through phases of the inability to sleep to the point of hallucination, paranoia, and needing to be hospitalized for it. Then I cycle into a semi normal sleep pattern but when I do I tend to sleep walk, talk, yell, and move about like Im never fully asleep. Husband says my eyes are open but I'm not "there".
I never feel rested ever even when I do get some sort of sleep. I have been in sleep studies with no significant diagnosis coming from it. I have been put on several sleep medications to help even me out but they do the exact opposite of what they are intended for, they make me hyper, itchy, and a bit manic. It feels like something is just backwards and Im just getting so depressed and feel crazed most of the time from sleep depravation.
Anyone relate? Thanks.
Iris

Default acting out dreams

i walk, talk, yell, break bones, all while acting out dreams.

the latest witch doctor diagnosis is pnes, which i don't buy.

docs call it my "alleged" sleepwalking. i stopped going to sleep studies.

i also suffer from insomnia.

mine is worse if i am under stress. my advice is to troubleshoot the stressors in your life and attempt to eliminate them. some of my stressors were tv shows, such as war of the worlds.

also i try to eliminate pharmaceuticals as they tend to make it worse. the worst culprits are nsaids, antihistamines, robitussin, and alcohol.

things that make it better - non alcoholic beer, such as malta goya, drink at bedtime. also chinese happy sleeping powder.
