hey Barb ... I took my last ambien at 10p last night ... and made it all night and got up around 9a ... feel like a normal person!! not so nauseated like I have been these last days/weeks ...

now to try to not do TOO much today ...

I did opened up and worked with the Dremel sanding tool yesterday - Sa-WWEEET!! and my hands didn't get numb like they usually do when I'm handling power tools (like a palm-sander or hand-drill) .. could be the weight!!

have homework to do today - may take a short ride outta here later .. the sun is shining ... going to have my coffee now, Jenn!

hmmm, wondering if being back on C (now onto almost a week) has helped me to feel better??

have a great day!!

Morning all.

Got most of the Halloween decs up for the kiddies, just waiting on the tree and creepy ghoul to show up at my door. The men folk are not happy, the Bears are off today but they will survive. I'll probably put on several layers of clothing to put away the patio stuff because it's SO COLD here. Ugh, we are 18 degrees below the normal for this time of year. So much for fall being one of my favorite times of year.

Hope everyone is doing well and those who aren't, huge to you.

Have finished two loads of laundry, cleaned my bathrooms, swiftered (is that a word?) kitchen and bathroom floors, ordered some books from amazon, played bejeweled, and making chicken divan for dinner. Did someone mention that I have grading to do? I would rather clean than grade.

I'm making a new recipe tonight. Parmesan Crusted Tilapia. YUM!!!

It's so easy to do.....Publix had tilapia filets on sale so I got a couple of pounds yesterday. I usually fry it but just didn't feel like all the mess (and grease). This recipe is baked in a 425 degree oven. I usually get this dish when I go to Olive Garden and theirs is good but really rich. Mine won't have the Alfredo sauce with it. I also made some yellow rice and mixed broccoli & cauliflower to go with it. I am SO hungry I could eat right now!

Barb, I love chicken Divan. Maybe I'll get brave and fix that next week!

hey Kelly ... email me the recipe .. I like that too ... but not with the alfredo sauce - like you said, too rich for me!!

yes, Barb - swiftered is a word.... a new word for sure ...

Sandy - can't wait to see how you will decorate this Halloween!!

UPDATE:

took a nice ride to visit some friends that I haven't seen for a long time ... and I got one of the coldest shoulders of 'friendship' that I've ever experienced ... it was a one-sided conversation with simple 'yes' and 'no' responses ... I felt that I was interrupting their day, so after 5 minutes of standing - I left ...

now I KNOW that I'm moving ... at this point, I don't know where yet - but away from here!!

I'm okay - having a pizza, chips, dip and RootBeer ...

Vonn, sorry your "friends" were so unfriendly! Maybe they were having a fight or something.

The tilapia is really very easy. I use fresh filets. Pour some EVOO on a plate and coat each side of the filet in oil. In a large storage bag I put some plain breadcrumbs, 1 small packet of dry Italian salad dressing mix and several shakes of grated parmesan cheese. Shake it all up till it's mixed then take your filets one at a time and shake them until coated. Lay them in a glass baking dish (I lightly drizzle EVOO in the bottom of the dish, too). Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake in 425 oven for 20-25 minutes or until fish flakes easily. Really yummy!

Hi everybody!

I just finished mowing the lawn for the last time this year. Oldest DS taught me how to use the riding mower, he got it started for me though. Then I finished the trim with the push mower, that part took 45 minutes and I got some exercise too.

I went to our town fall festival for about an hour this afternoon but it was only about 40 degrees here. I had a sandwich and visited a few of the booths. I saw an acquaintance who's a member of the town council and he told me there are a couple of accounting jobs opening up. He told me to contact the mayor and he'd put in a good word for me.

One of them is billing for the water department, the other is town treasurer (which I would prefer).

I got home and emailed the mayor so we'll see if anything comes from it. Also, there's an accounts payable open at our local community college. I emailed about that last night. I applied recently to their IT department so they have a recent resume on file.

I got a letter from the university yesterday and I scored 94/100 on the test for the budget analyst job, and that might put me in the top three, but we'll see. I'd like to work at any of those places and hopefully I'll have a job soon. A government job is probably much more stable than working for a business nowadays anyway.

So it's been a busy day today and hopefully, productive.

Anyone who needs hugs, or prayers, you got it....

Hi all!
Busy, busy weekend...our Friday night dinner/date was wonderful. Went to Catch 35, a seafood restaurant in downtown Chicago. The kids had given us a very huge gift card for our 35th anniversary in March (cute-35 yrs., Catch 35; I just got it last week). Then we saw Jersey Boys. Barb, you were right; it was great. We were about 5 yrs too young when the Four
Seasons were popular, but my DH loves that era of music, so we are quite familiar with all the songs. Even though I was only around 7 or so, I still remember listening to the radio on my transistor (remember those?).
I had an angel help me at intermission. I had stupidly drunk about 3 glasses of water at dinner, and we also split a bottle of wine. So throughout much of the 1st act, I was uncomfortable, to say the least. I let DH know, and we got out as soon as we could when the intermission came, but the line was about 30-40 women long. I passed a handicapped accessible washroom when I was at the end of the long line, and prayed that I could get in it when I looped around. As I got close, my face must have expressed my dire consequences, because a woman had been standing at the door waiting for her friend inside. She looked at me and asked if I was all right. I told her I have MS and I need to use the bathroom now. She said, "My friend has it, I know what your going through." Just then her friend came out of the bathroom and she got me in there asap. Thank God!!
When I sat down, she tapped me on the shoulder. Here, she'd been sitting right behind me...like I said, I had an angel...
Yesterday, our good friends' son got married, so we had a great time drinking and visiting. One of the friends has had cancer for over 20 yrs. and now there's no hope...please pray for him and his sweet wife. I really don't know how people fight like that...
We did a lot of garden work...pulling out the flowers that wilted in the 30 degree chill overnight...got the fishies into our bottom pond, and did other yard work. I am paying with nice spasms in the calves/shins. but at least the work got done, and DH didn't have to do it all...
we're going to share a cornish hen, and then start a fire and watch some TV.

Hope everyone has a nice night...prayers for all my friends here who need it....

Vonn - Sorry to hear about your "friends." I love my Dremel too. I don't have the sanding tool though. That would be fun.

DebbieD - That is so cool! Funny how those things work out.

Wiz - Wishing you luck on both job prospects. 94/100 that's awesome and I hope it gets you in the top 3.

Sandy - Glad the decorations are up. Halloween is so much fun.

Kelly - Although I don't like tilapia, that recipe sounds good. I'll bet it would work with other fish as well. I may have to try it.

Hi everyone else! Hope you had a great weekend.

Today's plans include writing another essay that is due in a couple of days. I thought I had another week but I don't. It shouldn't take me too long to get it done though. I'll be working on it today.
