I LOVE bargains!!! I got the book for DD18 for FREE plus $2.00 in credit! Well not exactly free. I brought a book in for trade and got $8.00 in trade and Death of a Salesman was only $6.00.

Jenn & Barb - I love that book too! And the movie. When DDs were little and not up to that reading level, I rented the movie for them. They liked it and then loved the book when they read it in school.

Barb - You confused me. Oh wait, that's not hard to do. LOL Why do you have to buy teaching years? I hope you feel better after meeting with the retirement counselor.

Hey guys. Spent all day at the VA hospital and Jim may be sick. We'll know more when all the test come in, should be by Friday. So far all test point to nothing which is good. Please pray he gets better so he doesn't have to go in the hospital. It's a bladder issue again.

Sandy -- Just said a prayer for Jim

Tricia -- I don't have to buy the three years. However, by buying them I would have 27 years of service instead of 24 which could increase my pension significantly. I will have to do the math once they figure out the costs of buying each year. ( That cost is based on your salary when you first started (7 or 8%), the number of years you have taught, and an interest rate that is compounded yearly -- I think )

Our pensions are based on age (if you are below 60), years of service, average salary in your last four years, contributions, and an interest rate of 7%. You also get a 3% cost of living increase. Does that make sense? It is all rather complicated. I have just confused myself.I will basically end up with about 50% of my salary if I do not buy the three years.

I feel much calmer now. Of course, now I can just go back to worrying about the flu.

The walk-thru at DS's apartment went well. It's a very nice place. Very modern. Not at all like I remember apartments being! Now I really have the "I want to move" bug! That place was so nice......granite counter tops, cherry cabinets, ceramic tile floors, crown molding......apartments never used to be like this!

It poured rain the whole drive there....and back home.....and I was a wreck because it was all Interstate driving and DS drives like a cop! Imagine that! Now I remember why I don't like riding with him! Anyway, we made it and now tomorrow is the big day. We picked up the U-Haul tonight and both boys were busy loading it up. I can actually see the floor of my garage again!

It will seem so strange not to have him here. But he's so excited about this move that it's hard not to be happy with him. I like the place they'll be living in....it's a very secure community with lots of built in security features. If it wasn't so darn far from where I am now I'd consider the place myself. I wonder what the handicap accessible units look like? And what the rent is? I could probably afford a closet there!!

Better try and get some sleep. I think I've already lost my side of the bed to the kitties!

Hey Kelly ... I know you enjoyed having both of your wonderful boys there with you ... it must be hard to let go ... but, you'll be fine! I believe in ya!!

QUICK UPDATE:

just got my Business Law FINAL grade .. well, I must of done good with the exam ... ended with >> A- ... I'm pretty happy about that ..

this class is the last ...

going for a job interview tomorrow, before my consult about the dry eyes .. and I looked up 'fatty liver' ... so, will have to figure out how to 'burn' fat outta my liver!! .. hey, fried liver with onions is pretty good!!

the job interview is to do taxes ... but, because I have my own small business, they may not like it - and figure that I'm out to 'steal' their clients ... LOL, Whatever!! LOL

well, better catch some ... see ya on the flip side ... doesn't that make you feel like a pancake or a record??

Well, I'm up early. Had the most horrible dream I think I've ever had. Scared me right out of the bed! I'll try to get a few more hours of sleep in a little bit but I just can't stop thinking about this dream. It was so real. And I didn't watch anything scary before I fell asleep, either. I must have been trying to run in my dream 'cos all my covers were kicked to the end of the bed and I was uncovered! Sheesh........enough already!

Sandy, prayers for Jim going out.

Kelly, sorry to hear about the bad dream. I've had a few of those. Where it kinda sticks with ya.

Vonn, congrats on the good grade!

Mornin' all. Hugs and prayers whether you need them or not.

Rain, rain, and more rain. So much for working in the yard today. I can attempt to reorganize the potting shed though.

I realized yesterday... thanks to lost hours over the next two holidays... and our wonderful (choke) privilege to work tax... I will lose the equivalent of one paycheck... over the span of six weeks. Joy, joy. Not! Thankfully I figured it out now so I can plan my lack of spending accordingly. Wonder how I'm going to survive this one?

Plenty to do. Better get moving. Have a good one.

Hey all, I'll check back in later but Jim is better today! Thanks so much for the prayers. It must have been Hematuria because everything is clear today. Jim feels good and that is a good sign.
