Was thinking like Sandy of taking tree stuff down, but now I am tired out... we are suppose to go have steak dinner at my parents, also my sister and her family there too. so 10 kids total!! always fun. might need a nap though as I work tomorrow!!

Happy New Year... hard to believe it is 2010.

I was up to 2am. I bought new vitamins yesterday and took 1/2 the dose at 3pm yesterday. That stuff had me wide eyed until 2am! My neighbors set off loud fireworks in the street at 11:30 and a retired sailor neighbor rang his ship bell at midnight...the others halted their fireworks to listen to his 1 minute bell ringing. It was actually quite somber and nice.

I talked to my mom earlier, she has realized her outbursts and dementia moments may be her blood sugar out of whack. She has been afraid to go get it checked out. But she went off on my brother yesterday and she has realized something is wrong. I hope it is that and not Alzheimers or age related dementia. My brother called me and wanted to know if momma needed to be on hormones... uhhh..no Bubba, she's 72...way past the age for those!

Holly, yes they are legal! Expensive though. I'm trying the Vitamin Code for 50 & Wiser Women by Garden of Life. They are made from raw whole foods. Just two days and I was surprised how alert I have felt. I took them at breakfast time today and thankfully I don't think they will interfere with sleep tonight... I'm about ready to call it bedtime.

I got no benefit from most over the counter vitamins/supplements. I had read some recently about how the ones that are made from raw whole foods worked better so thought I'd try it. I know I don't eat right all the time. I can only juice so many veggies and fruits before I get tired of it. This brand does not have any herbs or stimulants like so many "energy" vitamins do. I like that it has digestive enzymes and probiotics in it so that I don't have to take separate supplements.

Pam, that's interesting about the new vitamins. Hope they keep working.

~~~~~~
Trying to wake up this morn. Sun is shining so far, and have a few chores screaming my name - LOL! It's 2010 - aren't we supposed to have robots or something to help with this? Guess I'll settle for the appliances that help us out.
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Mornin' all. My firstborn turns adult today. According to our state's law at least. Where did the last 18 years go?!? She has her quirks, but still, I'm very, very proud of her.
I've got birthday prep to do and I'm still recovering from the holidays. Monday is the first day of normal. The guys will return to work and school while the girls return to normal work hours and days. I'm looking forward to normal.
Have a good one!
Weave, you just reminded me that 2010 will be a year of milestone birthdays at my house. Next month my oldest son becomes a teenager and I will turn 40. In March my youngest son turns 10! Where have all those years gone?
Morning all! Nothing planned for the day. Mom had a moody day yesterday. We are starting to see this the more she is here. She is very sensitive to everything and told us she would just stay in her room all day yesterday. We didn't do anything, just minding our business having coffee. Today she didn't come in to have coffee with us. My cousin told me to not ask or say anything to her. She said mom is the older adult and pitching a fit is not right. She is the same age as my mom and takes care of her mom who has alzheimers. She said mom needs to come to grips with her situation, not us. I love her. lol
Anyway, I really think this cold and snow is getting to her. We don't go out or do much of anything when it's like this. We are hoping by spring she'll snap out of it. If not her only option is to move back to Tennessee and live in assisted living which she says is a nursing home. Mom has never got along with anyone she has lived with. Say a prayer that she'll learn to come around and let go of the control factor. I told her we will not live everyday in stress or feeling awkward in our own home. Seriously, we can't. Jim has done very well not living a stressful life and it does affect him.
The doctor told us the seizures have caused brain damage that intensifies everything in her mind. She has been a control freak all her life so we are trying to be understanding. We're sure in time she'll come around. Right? I am looking at several places just in case. She thinks she can live with her friends and that wont happen. Her closest friend is dying of cancer and her other one is 75 and not in the best of health. She refuses to live with my sister or live near her so her only choice is to go into an assisted living arrangement if she doesn't come around.
Other than that, things are going well here at the house. Chris is applying for teaching jobs. The best he'll get right now is a sub job unless someone quits. NIU is taking their time to get transcripts out too. They said the economy is tough and they shut down the school until this week.
