Holly, big bunches of :hug::hug: heading your way.

Sandy, glad your mom is doing a little better. Hope getting her to meet new people in the area she can talk to helps.

Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:

~~~~
Sipping my coffee and getting ready for my eye doc's appointment. Love the fact I have to go every 6 months now. :rolleyes: But rather that than the alternative, especially with the issues I've been having.
Hoping everyone has a good day. :hug::hug:
Good Morning! Didn't sleep well at all last night. I woke up every hour on the hour. Cats wanted to eat every single time I got up........they can be so annoying when they think they need food. :rolleyes:
Same exciting plans for today........nothing. Oh, I did get a response on the application I submitted for volunteering for Meals on Wheels delivery. Would you believe they don't have one single route in my area that needs help?! I guess that's a good thing. People are volunteering. They said they'd call me if anything came up or they needed a substitute delivery driver. I emailed them and told them that right now I'm having an episode of ON so I don't drive but will be able to when it clears up. I'm sure that makes them think I'm unreliable. :(
Rain is supposed to be here tomorrow night and all day Thursday. It's been in the low 60's this week. Very nice and comfortable and my furnace is getting a much needed break. I'm holding my breath will I get my gas bill for last month. I'm skeered to open it! :eek: :o
Ya'll have a good Tuesday. Remember......American Idol from Chicago is tonight! Let's see if ya'll can beat Atlanta's "Pants On The Ground"!!! :D
Morning all! Jim and I are getting ready to head out to the VA. He's getting a new chair and testing out the exercise machine I showed you guys a while back. We're going alone because we'll need the space in the van for two wheelchairs. Mom will be alone for the first time since October 31st. She says she'll be fine.
Her best friends are insistant she come back to TN. They are looking at an apartment next to one of them that mom could walk to see them. One of the friends is the mom of the other so the daughter promises to make sure mom takes her meds correctly. We'll see. Mom goes back and forth on what she wants so who knows what she'll want come May when she goes down for a visit. hahaha I honestly think she can live alone. At first it didn't seem like it but as time goes by she is getting better. My main concern is her living alone and not eating right, etc. Jim and I are torn. On one hand we like the idea of her making it on her own at such a young age. On the other hand it scares us that she'll get sick again.
What can we do though? She is grown and can decide for herself. She is not at a point where we can go to court and demand anything. I told her friends and my sister that if we bring her back down this will be permanant because moving her back and forth is not good for her mental status. Like I said, we'll wait and see what happens. She may get involved here and want to try a place by us.
Have a good day everyone. :grouphug:
Kitty, I seriously doubt anyone can top Pants on the Ground! LOL
I don't know about that. It's so hard when you know their emotions are everywhere thanks to the brain tumor and the seizures. One day they want one thing, the next something else. That's mom's biggest obstacle is getting her mind to make it'self up. I don't want to take her down there and then she decides she made a mistake or something. Like I said we'll wait. Lots can happen between now and then.
Thanks for the support though! We are trying very hard to be understanding and compassionate. Although at times I want to throw myself through a window. :p
soxmom 01-19-2010 10:38 AM
dont throw yourself thru a window sandy...we need you here.
How about a doorway...not quite as dramatic but much safer.:hug:
Hey, even if she did throw herself through a window we know she could repair it herself in less than an hour! :D :cool:
Another gloomy day here in Central Illinois. I have been geting ready for class, and meeting with a few graduate students.
FinLady 01-19-2010 12:26 PM
I've been upgraded. :eek: Eyes are even drier than the were before. Since the regular drops aren't working as well as he had hoped, eye doc has me trying out an eye gel right before bed. Since it makes the vision blurry for a few moments, he said it was a literal put in your eye before you get under the covers. Oy! On the plus side, pressure in the eye is stable. :)
Sandy, I agree. You could definitely fix that window. :)
Barb, gloomy here too. Missing the sun.
Sox, hope the soreness from PT starts getting less for ya. :hug:
Kitty, don't think anyone could beat "Pants on the Ground" :D
Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:
Do men ever grow up??? :p Some of the officers my son works with on his shift made a video of themselves (in uniform) singing "Pants On The Ground". :D Since the Sgt. might not find it as amusing as we did I'm not allowed to show it to anyone. It was funny, though!
