I am sitting in my office shivering. It is 18 degrees here, with a wind chill of 2. No, that is not in my office Vonn. We only got about an inch and a half of snow, but the sidewalks are all icy. I already had my chairperson put in a call to the physical plant to complain about the sidewalks near the disability parking and entrance. ( I had seven typos in the above sentence. My fingers are hitting the incorrect keys.) You should have seen me walking in -- remember baby steps in "Mother May I?"

We have snow in our extended forecast, too. Friday night into Saturday....but that could change between now and then.

I'm not doing anything special today. It's cold and windy outside.

Barb, be careful walking on that icy sidewalk. I remember QVC having a thing that you put over the outside sole of your shoe that keeps you from slipping on icy surfaces. I'll see if I can locate it and post the link.

Here it is: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/v...-SlipOn-Cleats

I'm a fan of castle too. I liked the actor when he worked on the show "firefly" (the basis for the movie "Serenity"). I think he's a hottie.

Did you know they actually made that Nickie Heat book and they have the author as Richard Castle? Saw it in Barnes and Nobles. Half tempted to get it.

I've been running errands this morning. Car tags are due at the end of Jan, so I was expecting a long line at the license office. I was number 3 at 10am! Guess cold, windy weather is good for some things!

Barb, I hope you've made it safely home.

to all

Afternoon, everybody!!

Back to cold and snowy...Barb, be careful!!
No call from the doc...Sandy, they took some blood too...one that had to be handled under tight rules...I didn't ask why...ignorance is bliss The little cut the tech. put in my arm bled as soon as I took the gauze off, and bled after I placed the bandage on. But it stopped...

My DH & I watch Castle too...each for different reasons, of course

Going to my neuro's wellness lecture tonight. My DH goes with, and we both enjoy the info we get. And the snacks are to die for!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday afternoon/evening!

Debbie, we used to use butterfly band-aides on bleeding time test. Man, things have changed since I was a phlebot. It has been over ten years though. LOL Do you remember if they called the special test DIC panel? That's a full coagulation workup.

Jim's appointments went well. The neuro/botox doctor put an extra 100mgs of botox in Jim's legs. That's pretty much the limit. At this dosage he could develop antibodies and if that happens we'll try a different botox. There are two approved by the FDA. She also went over all the side effects of such a high dose. Jim said go ahead because he was already at 400mgs so 100 more shouldn't be too bad. She said yes but she had to tell him anyway. One big side effect is respiratory failure.

Good Morning all! I made it safely home. Thanks! And now I am back at school. I really did not want to get out of bed this morning. I finally had a decent nights sleep -- took an extra baclofen around 2:00 in the morning when I woke up with spasms. Sometimes, I wonder how I am going to possibly continue teaching until June 2012. I am enjoying my classes this semester, but do not enjoy all of the other work. I have a conference paper to co write with a colleague for April, and we have not even started. And then there are all the committee meetings, grading, class prep, advising sessions ... I just want to go home, take a nap, and read a good book.

Okay, I have to quit feeling sorry for myself and get to work. Hope you all are having a good day!

Good morning! It's a beautiful, sunny day here today. We have one more day of nice weather before the cold rain arrives. Tomorrow is supposed to be 60!

I cannot seem to wake up this morning. I cleaned up the house a little....trying to wake myself up.....but it just seems to have made me more tired. Eyes are still giving me problems so still no driving.

I think tomorrow, while it is a little warmer, I'm going to try and clean up the back porch. I need to inspect what we have stored in our little storage barn in the backyard, too. I haven't looked in there since we had all the rain. Hoping everything is still dry.

Okay, it's only 10 AM but I'm giving in and taking a nap. Ya'll have a good Wednesday!

Morning all! Jim is feeling a little flu like this morning. That's a side effect of the Botox hopefully. It should only last a day or so.

Mom did fine without us but she said she was lonely. LOL

Hope everyone is having a good day. It's so cold up here. :-(
