Hi all...feeling down lately...is it January blahs? Not sure, but I am sure not happy...and I have absolutely no excuse to feel this way

Took MIL shopping today...and she had a list of things she needs me to take her to...it gets to be stressful at times...

Sandy, don't give up yet...

Kitty, hope it warms up there soon...it's been quite a season for you all down there.

Barb, glad it wasn't anything serious

got the results from the sjogrens...negative. That's good news...

Say, this thread is getting near the 1,000 mark!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. DH & I are going to the boat show downtown chicago, and tomorrow is a 50th bday party for a friend.

to all!

We've had lots of stuff going on with Dh's new job, school starting back, snow, and more snow! I finally got out on Thursday to take the 15 yr old for his eye exam. He has worn glasses for distance and close up vision (think coke bottle thick) since he was 5 years old. This year he is glasses free! We hope and pray it holds at 20/20 vision until he's an old old man. It happened that way for one of DH's siblings.

I'm doing fairly well. I've been having lots of spasms that are new to me. The rib hug hit twice this week. I can't seem to get motivated to tackle all the cleaning and organizing I need to get done.

The weekend looks to be nice and sunny.. hopefully we can get the attic organized and finish our bonus/tv room makeover.

Morning all. I quit smoking and now I wake up early. 5am???? This better not last.

Debbie, I haven't given up. Lou's convincing me things may go faster than we originally thought. :-) Hey, speaking of, we are meeting up with Lou on the 26th out here, Mongo's. Want to come? He's planning for noon but I'm pretty sure Mongo's doesn't open until 3pm. If he'll wait, we can meet there. If not, we can meet at our house. Let me know.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Jack the cat went back on pain shots for a couple of days. He has had so many ups and downs. This poor cat. Lily is lonely and misses her play buddy, but I dont know if I am willing to add to this brood.

I have several meetings this week and have no idea how I am going to make it. I go to bed but cant fall asleep and then I wake at my normal time exhausted and wanting more sleep. I have learned that if I keep sleeping, and ignore my get up time I am really not sleepy at bed time. Like a small child I have to keep to a schedule. I hate this circle.

I hope everyone has a good day.

The melting has begun! Hopefully things will get back to normal now. We haven't had mail delivery since last Saturday! I thought for sure they'd deliver yesterday but nothing came.

Big football game here tonight at the Dome. Green Bay Packers vs Atlanta Falcons. I enjoy watching on TV. For years we went to the games (season tickets) and it was such an ordeal.

I went to the grocery store last night after DS got home and it was a madhouse. Plus, the parking lot was still very icy and some of the parking spots were still covered with ice. DS let me out at the door.....curb service! I got some stew beef and plan on making a pot of vegetable beef soup like my Mom used to make. Hers was so good. I can't ever seem to get mine to taste just like hers did, though. Guess that's going to have to just be a memory for me to enjoy.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday. I hope we all get a break from this snowy weather.

I am going to my niece's bridal shower today. I can't believe she is getting married. She was the flower girl in my wedding (18 years ago). I have to get up in a few minutes to change clothes, fix my hair, and put make-up on. I've actually been up since before 6AM because we had our every other week church ladies' breakfast at 7AM. So, it will be shower at 11:30, take MIL and SIL home and then Steeler game at 4:30. I'm hoping to squeeze a nap in between there.

Go Steelers!!!; Go Bears!

I am going up to Champaign for lunch, a movie (A King's Speech), and to the grocery store to get some decent produce.

Sounds like a lot of you have a busy Saturday planned. That is great.

So far my day has consisted of heading back to bed - dam hug. I doubled up on my Neurotin (as I mentioned in a previous post) and have been taking Ativan. I have to say that the Ativan does work on the spasms but doesn't knock me out like valium and make me feel drugged, hungover, and cranky like Baclofen. However, valium does work better on the spasms.

Debbie - You are so good to your in-laws! They are very blessed to have a daughter-in-law such as you.

Sandy - Congratulations! I hope it goes well for you. Who knows why you woke up at 5 a.m. It could just be a coincidence.

Kelly - DBF did the grocery shopping this morning. Memories like that are so important. Isn't funny how you can remember that and almost smell it? BTW - Beef stew sounds fantastic. YUM!

Pam - That is great news for DS15! Did his eyes just get better or did I miss something? I am sure he is so happy to not have to wear glasses, especially being a teen.

Hi everyone else! Thinking of you as well.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Vegetable Beef Soup is simmering away on the stove. Smells so good. I'm going to make some corn muffins to go with it later.

Our mail came today!! Finally. We still have ice on the front walkway and on the driveway in front of the garage door. I'm not chancing it so it'll have to sit in the mailbox till DS comes home. I never get anything worthwhile in the mail anyway. All my bills come electronically...all my banking is done electronically. Unless somebody mailed me a check I have nothing exciting out there waiting for me.
