I really enjoyed "A King's Speech." I definitely think Colin Firth should be nominated for an Oscar. Lunch at Red Lobster was good too. I have leftover Cajun shrimp pasta and a cheese biscuit for dinner tomorrow.

It was strange how over the years his eyesight got a little better each year. The prescription strength of his glasses would improve by almost 1/2 each time he was checked. This year it was perfect vision with no glasses. The optometrist explained that as he got older the shape of the eye was changing a little each year and could mean in time he would have improved vision.

We were told when he was 5 that it could happen, but rarely does to the point of needing no glasses. But as I said, my DH has a sibling who experienced the same thing. Only her vision was way worse than his at 5. She stopped wearing glasses at 16 and at @ 42 she started needing glasses again for reading.

Our day went slower than planned. Went shopping early in the day, had lunch, then napped. Decided to watch the Steelers/Ravens game and almost fell asleep again!

a mind numbing busy week ahead of me. I had two meetings yesterday and I needed to visit two of my little old ladies that are shut ins. I have church today and a luncheon to benefit the nativity set up by the womens club, and then have to get my self dolled up for the big girl hospital tomorrow. (why do we primp for the MD? My grandmother would roll in her grave if I showed up with dirty hair, and hairy legs) I have three MDs to see tomorrow while I am away at the big city place. Its a long drive and the long drive makes my back angry, esp in the winter stuff and its below zero! The rest of the week is just as busy with scattered appointments each day and other stuff. How will I do this?! I am so tired I dont want to sit and watch TV, let alone get up and get moving.

My mother will be having back surgery in Feb, and she has begged me to go down and help. My lovely sister agreed to help her, but now wants to charge her for the services. She also is now asking for my mom to share her pain pills and I think my mom is doing it. I am seriously considering calling adult protective services, but it would effectively end my relationship with what is left of my family. I will re evaluate when I get there.

It's a beautiful morning!! :) Well above freezing, the sun is shining and the birds are singing.

DS is still helping a friend of his renovate a house he (the friend) purchased. They worked all day yesterday and he's back up there again today. I saw pictures of it and it looks so nice. They ripped all the carpet out and put down laminate flooring. Painted every room and put new countertops in the kitchen. It's not granite.....can't remember what material it is but it looks great. Makes me want new stuff too!

I need more coffee and I might try and navigate the driveway to get the Sunday paper. We'll see..... Ya'll have a beautiful Sunday! :grouphug:

Good Morning!

So far this morning I have cleaned the master bathroom, changes sheets on my bed, dusted (a little:rolleyes:), and vacuumed. Now I am worn out.

I usually have someone clean for me, but she has not been here since mid December. She told me that she was going on vacation for three weeks, but I thought she was suppose to be back by now. I hope she still is willing to clean for me. I really feel comfortable having her at my place when I am not here and she does a good job. I don't think she really needs the money anymore, and I'm not sure she is doing it for anyone but me. She usually does not cash my checks for a month or so. She was cleaning different businesses in town to help with her sons' college tuition, but they have graduated. She also works at a local insurance agency that she and her husband own.

It is suppose to start raining here tomorrow morning, turn to snow, and then freezing rain, and then back to snow tomorrow night/Tuesday. I may be having a four day weekend.

Thanks for reminding me, Barb, that I need to dust! I keep the lights low most of the time but today......with the sun shining......it's very apparent that I have neglected that chore for quite some time! :o

Hey all! Dej, please be careful going down by your mom. I know you mean well, but I also remember how emotionally draining that can be on you. Deep breaths and maybe consider bringing mom up by you instead?

I didn't do much today. A little laundry. I washed the kitchen and living room walls down yesterday. I plan to do our room tomorrow.

Stay warm everyone. Bears are closer to the Super-bowl!!! My brother is getting us into the Super-bowl if the Bears go!! Yeehaw Texas here we come!!!

barb02 01-16-2011 05:22 PM

The super bowl is in Texas? Where? It would be kind of fun if the Bears played the Steelers.
