DS and I ended up going to Steak & Shake today for lunch. I got the best cheeseburger and fries. It was SO GOOD! We were both in the mood for cheeseburgers and that was the perfect place for both of us.
Afterwards we went to the grocery store and I got a few things. Turnip greens, rice and black eyed peas. Apples and green beans. I've been cooking this afternoon and I'll have left overs for the rest of the week. No nap for me today but I haven't felt the need for one. I'm just enjoying this day of feeling relatively normal. Tomorrow might be completely different but I'm not going to worry about that. Everybody have a good evening!

I had a nap and too many cookies.
Hey Sally, nice to see you here! Pull up a chair and have a cuppa. So what's happening in your life right now?

We had a nice visit with the Moms and family. Both our mom's show some signs of dementia, but I really think it is stress and lack of sleep. They worry over everyone and everything to the point of obsession.
The car we took on the trip is in the shop. Most of the trip home was in the rain and it leaked in from underneath the car up into the backseat. we just hope it's a defect and covered under warranty. :/ Today is our 31st anniversary... think I'll keep him around another 31 or so.

Hi everyone...
Kitty, glad you're feeling better...it sure takes time after surgery... I have a really bad sinus headache...I don't feel good and I want my mommy... Slept most of the afternoon away. Made homemade soup and bread in the bread machine in between naps. Have a good evening all...

Good morning, Everyone!
Pam - Glad you had a good visit with family and a safe trip back home. Kelly - I'm so glad to hear that you are starting to feel better and eating and doing more. That's fantastic! Debbie - Sorry about the sinus headache! I hope today is a better day for you. Sally - Hi! Good to see you post in here. No plans for the day other than relaxing. I haven't been able to eat oatmeal in a long time and yesterday I decided to try to steel cut oats. I'm not sure if it was the oats or something else I ate but I have a sore tummy. Although there are times when I think I am gluten sensitive, I know I'm not because I can tolerate other gluten type foods like white breads and pasta. Heck, gluten is in so much. I just have trouble with oats, wheat, rye, and barley. It doesn't make sense. Anyhow, I'm keeping it mellow today. I hope you all have a great day! |

Sally, your new ride sounds awesome! Did you say what color it is?
I'm laughing about starting the diet after the Christmas treats are gone! I say that every year. One year I decided to just THROW AWAY everything that was left after the 27th. I won't do that again, I was regretful right away, PLUS I could just hear my mother's voice saying "Waste not, want not." My daughter and granddaughter gave me Lake Champlain chocolates, and my son and daughter-in-law gave me Snowflake truffles! And my husband gave me a big jug of jelly bellies! To further complicate the issue, my granddaughter bought a truffle marbled cheesecake for Christmas dinner...and left several pieces for me!!!!!

Hi all...sunny and "warm" here today...
LOL Kitty!! I copied and sent it to DD27...this is her future Barb, I so understand...love family to death, but then I feel like killing them, so I secretly love it when the house is quiet again... Sal, glad at least you got the peek at the van...sounds like something in my future...LOL I had to second glance. I thought you typed Lipo surgery not lasik... Trish, oatmeal allergy? Better than chocolate chip cookie allergy, I guess Hope you're feeling better soon... The sinus med helped tremendously. I hate taking it too much though...OTCs are mysterious in their med interactions. Had my leg MRI..didn't even need to have contrast, so it must not be anything serious... We're taking DS31 & DIL downtown to Spiagia's, the Obamas' favorite restaurant in Chicago tonight as a thank you for all they've done for us. DS34 & DIL took us to their cafe a few years ago and it was devine. So we're getting all gussied up...haven't been downtown over the holidays in years. Hope everyone has a great evening!!
