Hmm, is -13.4 degrees MORE than 13 below, or LESS than 13 below? I hate math. At least the sun is shining! The river is almost completely frozen over.

We're on "high alert" this morning. Earlier our "foster cat" went after one of our kitties and scratched her nose, upset everybody. Could have been her eye!! I wish my daughter had another option; I would not have chosen this additional stress. But if the shoe were on the other foot...

Not much on my list today. My son won't be here until afternoon to get all the techie stuff done in anticipation of getting DSL this week. I think I could do it myself, but I might as well have it done professionally. Plus I have some stuff for him to look over--stuff that will either go out the door with him, or out in the trash.

I think I need more sleep...I not only can't remember what everybody else wrote, I can't remember what I already wrote! I'm probably repeating myself repeating myself.

It looks like everyone has been hibernating this weekend. I sent most of Saturday cleaning my place. I miss having someone to clean my place and may eventually try to find someone new, but it was a good work out.

Yesterday, I went to see "The Descendents" (which won the golden globe last night for best picture) and out for a late lunch.

Today I am just reading and playing some games of Word with Friends.

Hope you all are doing well.

Hi Everyone!

Barb - I did kind of hibernate yesterday. I watched the whole 2nd season of Drop Dead Diva on Netflix. I've been waiting for it to be available to watch instantly and just happened to see it.

B2Y - I do the same thing all the time. I can't remember if I already said something or what some else wrote. It's so frustrating. But, at least I know you all understand if I repeat myself. (And, sometimes more than once.)

It's rainy and gloomy here today. It's another good day to hibernate and watch movies. Well, actually, I can't. Laying around too much makes my muscles freak out. It's like they need a happy medium between activity and rest. Too much activity and they hurt and too little activity and they hurt. It's all about balance.

My sister was in town and we had a great time playing games the other evening. She won every game we played. haha It doesn't matter I enjoy playing games and am really not in to winning the game.

I hope you all have a great day!

Happy Monday! It's cool and cloudy here today and rain is in the forecast for tomorrow.

I went out to lunch with DS28 on Saturday and we had a good time. I cooked on Sunday and made some things to freeze. I had cooked a roast in the crockpot with little potatoes on Friday. I chopped it up along with the potatoes and made a roast beef hash. YUM! Divided it up into two portions and froze it.

It's noisy around here today. My neighbors across the street are getting a new roof. My neighbor next door is doing a kitchen remodel and both driveways have one of those big dumpsters parked in them for all the debris. My cats have been on the guest room bed watching all the action.

I got up earlier than normal today so I'm thinking a nap is on the agenda this afternoon.

A bug is making it's round at my house. Only one not sick is the 16 yr old.

Kelly, the home repairs started across the street from me this a.m. No nap for me.!

One of my resolutions for the year is to read more.. I'm trying. All I wanna do is sleep!

"....for destruction ice is also great and would suffice." No, the world isn't ending (that I know of), and although it looks somewhat poetic through the window, there is more ice out there this morning that I really want to see.

I watched my husband (he who has no grippers) carefully make his way to the barn (hen house). Our driveway, paths, yard, everything is shiny. The weather service posted warnings about black ice. The scanner updates me on those who didn't heed the warning carefully enough.

Haven't been outside for over three weeks, and I'm okay with that, especially today! The temperature has already dropped from 30 when I got up to 16, and supposed to be near zero by evening, -15 tonight. The wind howled all night. I dreamed the snow plow was stuck in front of the house!

Not much on the agenda today. My arthritic ankle is back down to "normal" size, which is about twice the size of my other ankle. We're still trying to get our two cats and the newcomer adjusted. It's just like having toddlers...can't take your eyes off them for two seconds. *sigh*

I'm thinking I might turn on the heat in the downstairs bedroom where Cooper has food, water and litter box...shut him and I in there together, and take a nap!

Hi everyone...haven't been on lately...wow, winter is finally here with snow and COLD...

I posted about my sister's wake in the other thread...'nuff said...

my doggie has a cut on his back leg. On ABs, ointments, and the radar collar, which drives him batty. He won't stop licking his wound though...

My MIL...sheesh...I took her to the eye doc yesterday. She told me in a conspiratorial tone, "You know my nice silver slacks? Well, I got a stain on them...I rubbed it out with soap, and put it into the hamper for the girls to launder. When they came back, someone had stolen one of the pant legs. But I waited them out, and they put it back into the hamper. I don't know what someone would do with only one pant leg...unless they only have one leg. They probably couldn't use it and gave it back."
I swear after being with her a few hours, I feel loopy...

Ginnie, I read almost anything except fiction. I tend to read gardening and homesteading books. I also read alot on herbal and nutrition therapy. My hubby gave me a Kindle Fire for Christmas and I've been picking up a few of the freebie fiction books, hoping to find something that interests me!

Default Hello two kids and two cats!

I love to hear what people read!. Both myself and my housemate are gardeners! Nan, the gal I live with, does this for her profession. She is a landscape designer and has had her own small business for many years. The place I live in gets lots of TLC and it is a organized jungle. I live in Fla. I garden all year round. When my health is good, I get to go with her to some of her accounts and I am well trained! I also gladly pick up after her clippings.
If you have not read fiction much, please give it a try. I didn't eithor, and was stuck on just a few things I was interested in. All of a sudden I started reading fiction and I took off. I have the origional Nook, and may upgrade at some point. The kindle fire is a good device! My nook has poor graphics for maps and such, and would be no good for gardening articles at all. I'd like to get national geographic or something like that.
Keep reading...ginnie
