One of the few crops that I get on my property each year that the Squirrels, otherwise known as "tree rats" do not consume before I get to them are my Chestnuts from a Chinese Chestnut tree.
It is looking like this years crop will be plentiful and I have never done anything with them in previous years, ended up putting them outside again for either the deer or the squirrels to eat, go figure. ![]() So, does anybody have any good ideas on how to prepare Chestnuts for human bean consumption! :>) I know they have to be roasted and saw some sites saying shell first, some not, some say slit the chestnut, hmmmmmmmmn, looking for suggestions.
