If I am reading this correctly, you are going to have to leave your current home and leave your perennials behind? You can take starts off them and take them with you. That way you will have reminders of the hard work you did and your lovely perennials.

Not to mention my fruit trees, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, asparagus, blueberries, the purple amethyst for the birds... honeyberries.

If I don't have the energy to do anything to try to save myself, then I don't think I have the energy to take cuttings off things I waited years to enjoy...

and where is any better?

The United States is not a safe place to live. If someone can find a way to cheat you out of something your worked and paid for for 17 years, then it's not surprising that we are off killing Iraqis as if their lives were without meaning.
