good evening everyone...

today was good... it started out with some organic fair-trade Nicaraguan coffee, with real cream (traded eggs to a neighbor, oh joy, oh rapture!)

next up was a pair of deep red pitaya fruit fro breakfast, and hubby-baked bread, with homemade mango preserves.

then, a a shower, brush, floss, dress, make the bed, and sweep the house.

then, I started planning for a busy day, as with the PRICE of gas here - 11 Belize bucks a gallon, ($5.50 US) things must be coordinated and combined extensively.

after a lousy haul last weekend at the veggie market (I usually get about 100 lbs of free scraps for my animals, but due to the storm - Arthur - I only got one BAG...) so I was happy to score a few more bags today while running errands.

this time I made a LIST of places I needed to go, and put them in ORDER of need and location, so I felt very organized!

I used to be able to do that kind of stuff without thinking, and come home with everything I needed, but the last few years my memory seems shaky, and my organizational skills FUZZY... so a list really helps... that is, IF I don't LOSE the list!

of 7 things, I got 6 done, (the 7th place was closed) so I feel GREAT !!

I got home in time to feed all the critters, and I had GOOD stuff for 'em, which always makes me happy.

I had lettuce for the geese, cabbage for the ducks, carrots, celery and cilantro for the bunnies, callalou and muskmelon for the guinea pigs, and watermelons for the chickens.

I got to visit a friend in town, and make plans for a dinner-feast next week, when his wife gets back from England.

I took care of all my banking, paid my bills, and arranged delivery of the concrete blocks, sand, rebar, and cement for our emergency animal hurricane shelter.

AND... (oooooh, the BEST part !!) I found a favorite bookstore that I thought had CLOSED, but my English friend told me they'd moved, a few blocks away, and took me there... so...

I got some new BOOKS to read, oh YEAH !!

two Patricia Cornwell, on Scott Turow, one Stan Laetrelle, and one Nancy Price.

so, I'm set for the next couple of months, oh happy day !!

I haven't had such a well-planned day in a year, and I don't feel like a TRUCK ran over me... no leg/foot spazzes, no TG head-agony, no double vision, no extreme fatigue, no bathroom accidents, and no achy back.

what a great day, it was so good, I just had to write it all down, so that next time I feel cruddy, I can look back and see how it's done RIGHT, lol !!

:grouphug: to Barb, Vonny, Finny, Sandy, Jim, NaeNae, Frank, his Angel, Sarah, Trish, Pearlie-Girlie, JMiller, and all the great folks here who make it soooooo good to have a good day, and have someone to TELL about it, who will understand precisely how precious it is !! :grouphug:

Kay - Thank you so much for sharing those pictures. The majestic beauty of seeing sea life in its natural habitat as well as my intense desire to go again brought tears to my eyes. Absolutely beautiful photos!

When we go snorkeling it is like I become part of that life in the water. I feel so free swimming right along with them. Even the sea urchins and puff fish don't bother me. Yet, rodents completely freak me out. LOL. I think I was born with the ocean in me.

Kay I do not even really have fatigue but I get tired just reading what you do in one day.:D

mmm, real fresh eggs. DH and I lived next to an old woman with more wrinkles than I have ever seen.

she had lots and lots of chickens, this was in a suburb of San Diego. It was probably against the law but I never even knew nor did I care.

I think she had turkeys too. She told me turkeys are as dumb as a box of rocks. They do not even have the sense to come out of the rain.

She was just a sweet wonderful woman and she would keep us supplied with fresh eggs, some still warm and even with feathers.

A city girl like me was just thrilled and amazed.

mmm, real fresh eggs.

Vonn:

I have always had a cell phone, and I never did the monthly contract thing. I buy a prepaid cell phone and add minutes when I need it. There are Trac Phones, there are phones by Verizon. There are a whole bunch of pre-paid phones. They are called disposal phones around my neighborhood.

You pay $20 for the phone. It comes with 30 minutes already on it.

I then take $50.00 and put 4 hours worth of minutes.

These minutes expire in 4 months. This is the best thing I have ever done. I need a cell phone for the access a ride bus, or for when I'm in the store and I have to contact Alan.

But I would never do the monthly $39.99 contract thing because of all the hidden charges and taxes, etc, they hit you with. And God Forbid you want to break the contract.

No, for me, the pre-paid cell phone is the way to go.

I hope you can find one in your local Radio Shack, or local phone store.

We have them all over the place around here. The signs on the stores all say "Pre-paid phones sold here".

Hope this helps.

recently found out there is such a thing as a caffeine drip u get through an IV woooooohooooooooooooooooooooo:eek:

I've had one and I'm not sure I would have another! It was after my LP and I went into the ER for a blood patch for the dreaded spinal headache. They wouldn't do the blood patch until they tried the caffeine IV. I think it was something like 500 mg of caffeine. I am pretty sure I was levitating off the table, but still had the headache.

okay - new dilemma ... because of my credit - I probably can't get a cell phone, what do you think about a trac phone? and if they come in purple - I want one then! then, my landline can just be internet/cable ... thru the same service I have up here - centurytel ...

We have a trac phone for our kids. It makes me feel more secure when I drop them off at practices, etc. that they can get ahold of me easily if something happens. We bought it at Walmart or Target. It was a good deal and I have had no problems with service or coverage.

I don't know anything about the other prepaid phones, but I have had good luck with Trac Phone.

The only other kind of cell phone service you could get would be through Cricket. I don't think they have any kind of credit requirements. I think they are unlimited minutes per month for a flat rate. They don't have credit requirements because there is no chance you can run up a big bill and you pay a month in advance, so it is almost like a prepaid cell phone.

Hey all! Yesterday I got our van ramp fixed and did a little shopping. Then I came home and replaced my flood lights in the backyard and buried my precious cat Cassie. She passed away last year and we just now gained the heart to bury her ashes. She's with our other cat Bogart in the small garden we can see from our bedroom.

Today I need to balance the checkbook. Yippie! Oh, and I bought a Wii for Jim to use to exercise. I have heard great reviews about this game system for those with mobility problems. Jim needs and wants to work out so this will be a good way.

Have a great day everyone!

THANKS, Melody and Holly ..... about the phone ... I'm thinking this just might be the ticket .. because if I'm able to move to a bigger place next year - my number will stay the same ... very rarely do I get mail!! other than getting the postcards and cards was such a treat this year! ... I FOUND a box of notecards and postcards while packing .. so, when I rediscover the box, I'll be sending everyone my new addy, deal??

the reason I asked was yesterday at General Dollar - I overheard the girls talking about returns of the phones ...

**UPDATE**
going to go and do laundry, get the oil changed ... and go to the Legion meeting and ask them if they want my trailer (as a donation) and they can dismantle it and remove and cash in on the aluminum ... AND if I can borrow someone's truck tomorrow to load and run it down to storage ... they get to keep my car in exchange!

can't believe I have 2 weeks off before school starts ... it just feels good to get moved now ...

have a great day!

see, Frank, I knew you'd get in trouble ... again - how many times do we have to tell you not to play with matches!! :yikes: LOL
