ooops, as usual, I forgot to update...

we just got back from the market, (on foot) carrying 100 lbs of leafy stuff for my farm animals.

we were greeted by 60 hungry ducks, and 75 cheering chickens!

the guinea pigs, goats, geese, rabbits, and pigs were pleased as well.

everybody's now piggin' out at the salad bar!

in a perfect world, I'd be growing my own, but it floods, seeds wash away, birds eat 'em, and bugs totally munch out.

since I woke at 3 am (possum got into the chicken pens), and never got back to sleep, lol, I'm gonna SKIP the coffee, and go straight to NAP TIME !!

:D

PS: tomorrow's hatching day for the turkey eggs... and we just put SEVEN goose eggs in the incubator...

I forgot to update too:o. I did too much yesterday.

I have a "floor mate" hard floor cleaner, I did the whole house! We had someone coming over last night and the floors were pitiful. I just had to clean them. It took me 2 hours just to find the cleaning solution to put in the danm thing!:rolleyes::eek:

I hobble around like a wino already so I'm pretty sure it was really funny for my KIDS to sit there and watch me do this. It took me from 9 am til 4 pm to accomplish this. Now I'm gonna watch movies all day and make my kids clean toilets!!!!!!!!LOL:D:D

DizySara- Welcome to the board! Glad you found us... I too have terrible insomnia...I take Ambien CR for it but even that doesn't help at times. UGH!

Moose-Metallica always works for me! Just think of those adorable boys of yours!

Kayo-I swear I'm coming as soon as I can swing it!

Vonn-will do with the roses!

YALL are so NOT gonna believe this! :holysheep: :holysheep:

Hubby woke up this morning...whole jaw swollen the size of a baseball...took him to the urgent care clinic on base who in turn called in public health......they think he has the mumps!!!

SandyC 02-02-2008 01:13 PM

OMG Renee, remember when I told you Jim looked like Popeye one morning? It was cellulitis. I hope he doesn't have the mumps or that! What are they going to do? Is it contagious to you guys even though you had shots? That is freaky.

NaeNae 02-02-2008 01:27 PM

It is highly contagious...most peoples immunizations are enough to protect them however they say 2-3% of people get them anyway. We have to see public health Monday and go from there I guess. Sheesh next it's going to be Rhodesian Rump Rot or something!

bummer, NaeNae!

and he DID get his MMR shot as a child, right?

oddly enough, I came down with MEASLES, as an adult!

and yeah, I'd had ALL my vaccinations as a child...

the doc said that happens rarely, he called it "vaccine failure"

keep us posted, okay?

Iowa Mumps Outbreak Linked to Primary Vaccine Failure

By Peggy Peck, Senior Editor, MedPage Today - April 04, 2006

Harris said published data suggest that the vaccine failure rate for mumps is about 5%. "So by my estimate there are about 200,000 people in Iowa who have received the recommended vaccinations but who have no immunity to mumps."

Jim's doctor said Jim wouldn't be as special as he is if he didn't get at least one exotic bug to play with. :p

Me too, I can't believe how kids feel almost fine when they get the measles but than an adult with them feels close to death with them.
