Hey everyone. It's storming here and we have a cool breeze so the doors are open if only for a little bit. We're under a heat advisory too so we're not going anywhere.

Have a good day everyone and stay cool!

wild, windy, and wicked storm passed through here a while ago...

WHEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that was the noisiest, boomingest, whiz-bangiest light-show I ever did see or hear tell of...

I was napping, and a big lightning strike close-by shattered my tropical dream, waking me up to a heart-thumping disorientation.

then the wind came up fierce, and knocked down the last of the mangoes from 40 and 50 feet up in the trees.

BANG !!! SPLAT !!! WHAMMY !! KA-BLAMMO !! on the tin roof.

my kitty was terrified, and hid under the bamboo canopy bed, cowering and shivering.

more thunder, and lightning, WOW !!

the chickens bolted, and ran to hide in the almost-finished shelter (great! now who's gonna clean up all the caca before we plaster? inquiring minds wanna KNOW!?!)

the ducks took cover in the orchard, and Becky Bacon ran for her sty.

and then the heavens opened, with an amazing "freight-train rain"

but the geese, they just STOOD there in the drench-pour, flappetty-flapping their wings, and enjoying the show...

Whew! I just read through many, many pages and now I am blurry and tired and confused, but happy to catch up with y'all. That'll teach me to disappear.

My update:

Transmission in car is fixed to the tune of $1,800 with a more reputable shop than the one that was quoting the big range. We got a warranty, too. I'm still mourning the loss of the $$ I couldn't afford to spend.

Laptop died and I have semi-resurrected it. Still working on trying to get it truly functional - makes it hard to keep up on here when I am not using a computer at home.

I took 2 days of vacation last week to try to get caught up on stuff at home and failed miserably. I have found that the fatigue is really that bad right now. Why can't SSDI just provide services for those of us who want to keep working like maid service? I'm totally serious here. If I had some help around the house, it would really help me keep working. It would seriously save them money to just help with services like that.

When I hit points like this is when I seriously think about SSDI. My neuro tried to convince me to file about 3 years ago telling me that I was using all of my energy at work and I really keep hearing his words when I hit this stupid wall.

Grandma is doing a lot better. She has really adjusted well. I'm not sure I have and I am really scared about the future, but I am trying to take one day at a time.

We are still in financial doom, but I have some hopes for pulling out of it. It's just so hard when you can't think clearly and keep forgetting important things.

DS8 just got back from Cub Scout summer camp. The boy who was terrified to go and who is too afraid to eat dinner on the patio if he sees a bug just spent 5 days sleeping in a tent and didn't want to come home because he had too much fun! Amazing!

Well, I am really trying to get myself out of my funk, so I am going to try to participate more here. I love reading all about your lives and I keep you all in my prayers even if I don't post much. All of you take care.

They say the storms maybe heading this way. Got some running around done thankfully. Some new makeup, and some cute new shoes! :)

I have a pair of heels I used to like to wear. The heel of it is too tall and thin for me now :( But found a cute pair with a thicker, smaller one. I plan on wearing a dress tomorrow, so these will go well with it.

Now resting up and cooling off a little.

Now THAT is something I need majorly...dress shoes....in fact I must go find some tomorrow...went to my first interview in flipflops!

BTW Got my new cell today so those of you and you know who you are...whose telephone numbers I had.....I need them again!

ahhhhh, I can't wear dress shoes or heels at all anymore.

I'm so jealous!

my AFOs only fit into my running shoes (if loosely laced)

lol, I wore a nice full-length dress to a wedding recently, and tennies underneath.

spent the whole time making sure there was no visibility of my unsightly footwear.

:D

I have only been wearing Merrell clogs and running (or slow walking) shoes for the last year. Everything else feels awful.

sabimax 08-04-2008 05:53 PM

not too many problems with my feet...well my ankles...always make me walk like 99 years old each morning....but anyhow...this past spring was first time I realized not good for me to do heals...wanted some cute sandles with big heals...and realized danger to me with my balance issues that come and go without notice....just not practical....I cryed that day....

and I am not a shoe person..NOT...really..I own maybe four pairs..that includes my ugly black work shoes...hehe

well, just working and working, before trip on friday...then I will be gone for two weeks...to florida...with family...staying at inlaws...

but I will be on before leaving hehe...hugsss all, sarah

I'm sooo glad I went for the smaller heel. I've been wearing mainly merrells, sneakers, and sandals these days. Wore the new ones for a little while to break in and didn't to too bad walking in them.

Then tried out my old ones. Couldn't walk 5 steps, LOL. Kinda like a weeble wobble. Definitely would do a humpty dumpty impression if I wore them. :Slip:
