Frank; just wanted add that you two need to take care of yourselves. The fact that Debbie has lost the amount of weight she has so quickly may have also lead to her drop in potassium.

Good mornin' everybody. It's extremely windy here today and rained a little this morning but I don't think we're going to get much. Just clouds and wind.....my favorite weather!! Yeah, I'm weird like that. I love cloudy weather especially in the winter.

Frank, I hope ya'll are feeling better today. Gosh, Deb sure has to go to extremes to get a little break from you doesn't she?!! ;) BTW, I sent you a PM with the "good vibes" smilie!

Kay, I hope you have a blast on your mini-vacation!

Vonn, I sent you a PM with the little smilie attached!!

I'm going to a volunteer meeting for a "pet soup kitchen" this afternoon. Yes, you read that right! It's called Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen and it's an organization that tries to keep pets and their families together. Elderly people, people in the midst of foreclosure and/or eviction, people who just cannot afford pet food and vet care are among the recipients of the services. They take donations of pet food, vet care, pet accessories (cat towers, dog beds, etc.) and need volunteers to do just about everything (including provide foster homes for animals). Kevin's and his girlfriend Jessica are gonna go with me. I've signed up to do phone and newsletter work from home. I think it'll be fun.

That's about it for me today. After that outing I'll probably be exhausted! Oh well, at least it's exhaustion from doing something productive! :)

Ya'll have a great Saturday!

Just dropping in to say we made it home to Florida in 1 piece. New york was fun and long, glad to be home. We only had 11.61 inches of rain in the 3 week vacation I had, 3 1/2 between yestrerday and today. The drive home was treacherous from S. Carolina to Florida, windy and extremely rainy thanks to Fay.

So now its business as usuall, time to visit Momma and her gang.

Hi everyone!
Sorry I've still been mostly a lurker around here. It probably keeps me out of trouble :p LOL!!

Updates on me:

With all the rain and non-summer like behavior around here, Fall is already in the air here and I anticipate an early winter. I suspect we will have snow on the ground here in Anchor Town by the end of September.

With that snow will come my lay off from my seasonal job. I'm hanging in there for the lay off as I'll get a "Finish the season bonus". Not sure how much, but I've heard around $1000. This will be a nice boost.

School is just crazy to keep up with, but I've been managing my time better and sailed through several sessions and have caught up to the point I am only about a month behind now. YIPPIE!!!

The Alaska Permanant Fund Dividend (PFD) that is due in October will be paid out early this year so those who need to buy fuel for the coming winter can get it paid for and ordered. This year will be the highest payout on record. They are predicting $2100 (every man, woman and child who is a resident). For those who don't know, this is money all Alaskans get from our Oil wealth.

So then our Govenor decided that since Oil prices boosted the State's revenue, that she would pass some of the profits on to all Alaskan's to help offset the energy costs/food costs of living here. So she added another $1200 to our PFD (Every man, woman and child). So the grand total should be about $3300. The payouts are coming on Sept. 12th. Another YIPPIE!!

If you want to know about the PFD:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_Permanent_Fund

Anyway...with all the extra money we will get ($6600 between me and DH and that end of season bonus) I should be set for winter and school...at least for awhile :)

DD starts back to college on Monday and she can't wait. All the animals are well and I'll be celebrating my 13th Wedding Anniversary on Sept 2nd.

It's been a hard year, but I see a better future.

Best to all,
Jeannie

Hi everyone! Man, I couldn't log in all dang day! I got a lot done though! lol Kind of makes me wonder if I do spend too much time here. lmao

Frank, tell Deb we're thinking of her and hope she's home tonight. Good grief, you guys do everything BIG don't you?

That's funny about Sonic. Jim has a gastro appointment Monday with a doctor who is booked to the gills. It's in Geneva so we'll head over to Sonic after the appointment. I wont bother asking if you want to meet up since your sick and all. :-)

Ok, so I scrubbed the countertops in the kitchen, threw away a bunch of junk and then polished the countertops. I also cleaned and scrubbed the oven top and finished two loads of laundry. Yeah, I think I get more done when I'm not online. But it's nowhere as much fun as being online right?

Take care everyone! I am off to finish the kitchen dishes and make a bowl of cereal for Jim and I. No cooking tonight.

Hi everyone! I have missed you all. I assume everyone has had problems with the web site.

It is pretty hot here today, so I have been taking it easy. I only went out to make a quick trip to the post office. Otherwise, I have been catching up on Project Runway, reading, and doing laundry.

Frank and Debbie, Hope you are both doing better. Did you mean avelox? I took it last winter and did not have any major problems with it -- just some mild nausea. But I did have major problems with cipro last month (stomach and intestinal).

Kay -- Hope you are enjoying your vacation. I did see that there is a tropical storm forming in the Pacific. Hope it misses you.
