I am going to throw this out and see what any of you might have to say. I'd really like your input. I am 56. In 1985 I was married to a man that thought his wife needed to have big boobs so he could feel more like a man. He had the short man syndrome I guess. He had to have a big truck, a big boat and a wife that looked like a high dollar hooker. I didn't really want the implants but to keep him happy I got them. I got tired of living the life he wanted and divorced him. Now I'm happily married to a wonderful man. I've had nothing but trouble from these implants. I've had both redone after they firmed up to the point of hurting. Now the last one I had redone is firmed up again and it is really starting to give me a lot of pain. I called the doctor that did them and he retired 10 years ago. I don't have health insurance. I don't qualify for aid and I can't afford to get health insurance. I'm self employed. What I want to know is there anything I can do? Is there anyway I can get these taken out? I live in Texas and I don't know of anything. I'd give anything if I had never let him talk me into having a boob job.
Thanks for any help you might offer. B |

Oh, boy, that's horrible. I'm glad you're going to have them removed; if they were not for yourself, they don't belong.
First, maybe locate your local women's resource center where you might find help locating a surgeon who will work with you on the $ angle and still take good care of you. Second, you might be forced into a loan to do it. I have no idea how much the procedure would cost, but is a home equity loan possible? Then, of course, there are those nifty 0% credit card offers but you'd have to be able to pay it off inside a year (or get another 0% credit card). Hm, I wonder if there are any crusader-type women's groups who help gals in your situation. Yep, I'd start with your women's resource center. I hope you'll find an answer. ![]()

You're welcome, B. I did a little more digging around and discovered some less-traditional finance options. Take a look at this site, but bear in mind that it is a dot com, it's a commercial site: http://www.docshop.com/education/cos...ion/financing/
Here's a message forum about the procedure: http://www.implantforum.com/breast-implant-redos.html
