Snakes petrify my Diane! But, your'e right, that guy did not know his snakes. UGH!!!!

Uh, I am not what you would call a "roughing it'' camper. We got a new RV last yr that has 3 slide outs, queen pillowtop bed and all the amenities of home. 15 yrs ago, we started out w/a pop up and had that one season. I didn't like it.

I remember camping w/my parents in a tent w/5 kids, plus friends. We thought we were the luckiest kids' in the world. If I slept in a tent now, I'd be crippled up forever. No, I'd still be in the tent, floating down river.

You said it~~ We are so lucky to have our "volunteer" fire dept. They are a great bunch of people.

Oh NO!! Our DM could be floating down the Mississippi by now if she hadn't gone home.

Home is where all good DM's should be in nasty stormy weather.

That pic is the real thing, Anne. DM emailed it to me. I've driven right through there and I can tell you, it's a darned-good distance from the actual banks of the river. It is a very good thing they got out when they did, all their potato chips would have been ruined!

Yup~ it's the real pic of my campground. It's a really nice place too!. I shudder to think of the mess the river will leave it in.

Thanks for posting the pic, AMN.

She drove on the grass too, but I saved her before the Rangers saw it!! She'd still be in TH jail!

The Mighty Mississippi crested during the night. She is way over flood stage and has poured into many river towns. My campground is completely under water.. They had just cleaned the whole grounds for the season and the river has brought things w/it that make ya sick.
