Well,

Hubby and kids cleaned the house for me... it was so thoughtful of them.

They pretty much did everything for me that day, even hubby gave dd a bath and washed her hair.

The kids made me a card, they also gave me chocolates, and i'm sharing since i've been wanted to get "back in shape" middle age sucks...lol

They cooked dinner for me, hubby even went to tim hortons for coffee and muffins...yum!

All in all a very wonderful day!

In sticking to the manly girl gifts LOL I got an electric hand sander with 8 piece attachment set....and antique chest of drawers and all of the fixings needed to refinish it! As well as a yummy breakfast out and a whole day out on Saturday with the kids and their friends at the zoo then a restaurant.

I was wondering why everyone was on about Mother's Day - it's later in the USA than it is in the UK! lol :D

The best thing I got (wasn't really intended to be for MDay), was that DH fixed my washing machine! Yippee!!!

The dern thing isn't even a year old and would stop several times during a load. So I kept assuming it wanted to be more balanced, so I redistributed again and again. Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!

Turns out the digital readout was actually complaining that the hose was kinked and it couldn't drain the water.

Oh yeah, and I got a card and some cash. But doing the happy dance cuz the washer's fixed!!! :Dancing-Chilli::Dancing-Chilli::Dancing-Chilli:

Aren't we just a group of yard tool lovin' women!! Just like FFM said - we get all excited at getting "men's" gifts!! I got a grill and bought myself a weed eater/edger. You got a leaf blower and FFM got a weed eater!! Wish we all lived close to each other and we could share!! :D

Guess we're learning to be self-sufficient!

Well, my little girl (5) made several gifts for me at school. :D

She painted a small terra cotta bowl with B R I G H T colors and planted a fushia-colored impatient flower in it ,

she made a card where she wrote a message inside thanking me for washing her clothes, making dinner, and baking brownies,

and a matted photo of her standing in front of the Mary statue at school - she drew a picture on the matt of the sun, myself, and herself standing on a multi-colored, striped "something". :heartthrob:

Can't do any better than that!:hug::hug:

I got my 'big' mother's day gift a few weeks ago. DH and DD got me a small Swavorski (sp?) crystal vase with blue flowers - my DD couldn't wait to give it to me.

Then on Saturday night (DD couldn't wait until the next day) to give me the plate she made me. She put her name on it and mom and a flower. Then she gave me decorated/homemade stationary and evelopes. The stationary is so special I won't ever be able to use it!!!

These homemade gifts are the best when they are little and love making them!

I don't blame you karousel. I'm sure it's the most beautiful stationary you've ever seen - gotta save at least one sheet/envelope. :)

I still cherish the gifts my son made for me when he was little. It has more meaning to me than anything that could have been bought in a store. The only exception is small gifts he picked out himself using his own money. I still have the wooden trout (fish) earings he bought me years ago. They are priceless, as far as I'm concerned. :D

My son called me from the base yesterday. My gift - my hug - will have to wait until he returns home. He leaves for Iraq next week.
