Cool Smirk I've been "Skyped"!

And I'm thrilled!

I hadn't realized when my SIL set up my Skype acct. several months ago, that others could look in a directory and find my name.

I've only used Skype a couple of times and haven't had good luck. Seems like either we can't see each other, or have to use the cell phone to hear one another.

BUT, tonight was different! I was contacted by a long-lost friend in Australia. Haven't talked to him in 20+ years, and lost his address after he moved about 8 years ago. So good to hear his Ozzie voice once again. He still makes me laugh.

I was sitting here in my PJs, no makeup, wearing my funny reading glasses, etc. and assumed that the camera still didn't work. Surprise! I had to hurry and turn it to the wall!

Anybody else use Skype?

Still a beginner here.

Skype allows you to have a conversation with someone (who also has Skype), so that you can both SEE and HEAR them simultaneously. Very cool, I think.

BTW, love your goofy guy that pokes the red X in your siggy line!

I un-installed mine a while back Twink. What a shame.....we could have chatted! It was giving me hassles however, and there never seemed to be any of many friends around when I was.

My daughter uses her's to phone England for a small number of cents a call. She thinks it's wonderful, and I might think about getting mine back on when I get the new PC.

Oh Twink, my sister Barbo uses it to talk often with an old childhood friend that lives in Israel. They can see and hear each other as clear as a bell...
Yes, be careful what you aren't wearing.

I use it to call my son who is in South Korea. Inexpensive (.02 cents a minute) and easy. I can talk with or without the camera (which you have to have and set up the program) and I recommend using Skype. It's a great way to communicare anywhere and it's cheap.

I don't have any long distance on my phone. Why would I want to pay all that money? You can get phone cards at Sam's or Costco and program them into your phone. You can purchase as many minutes as suits you. It is much cheaper than using a regular long distance phone service.

By the way Twink...do you mean 'Aussie' or 'Ozzie'?
