Default Someone stole my package.

Now believe me, this isn't the first time this has happenend and it's probably happened to one or more of you, BUT WHAT HAPPENED JUST NOW, well this is what got me spooked.

Several weeks ago, I had a gift certificate from Bath and Body Works. I ordered a tub of Body Butter. Never had a problem with this company before.

I never got the order.

Last night I approached the girl upstairs (very nice, we've been neighbors for over 10 years and we get each other's packages all the time). She told me "I'll certainly look out for it". But I'm home during the day and she's not and I check all the mail and packages every day. I'm like the mailman. I get EVERYBODY's mail, and I just dispense it to the three mailboxes that are attached to our houses.

And I had called Bath and Body works several times and they told me that if I don't get it by June 19, that I can call them and they'll give me a credit.

Well, I just got my mail and there was a plain envelope (with no return address), mailed from New York City.

I opened it up and there was the receipt for my Bath and Body Works Body Butter, and a hand written note.

The note said:

THANKS FOR DUMPING THE BATH AND BODY WORKS BOX IN THE STREET. YOU ARE SUCH A STUPID C**T - YOU LEFT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS INSIDE. SOME NIGHT 2 OR 3 WEEKS OR MONTHS AWAY - I'LL PASS BY (THEY GAVE MY ADDRESS), AND SPRAY PAIN YOUR CAR OR HOUSE.

Then there was a little drawing of a cat with 666 underneath.

I know now that someone stole the package, opened it, took out the body butter, dumped the box (with my receipt in it), in the street. Someone obviously picked up the empty container and decided to try and scare me.

What is wrong with people today? To write such disgusting words and mail this to me??

Very sad

Melody

Shocked

Yikes, Melody

Seems like more and more people think they can be judge and jury these days, fighting fire with fire. Only problem, it wasn't YOU who threw it out on the street! Geesh. That note sounded kinda threatening though. I would consider reporting this to the police.

Melody, call the cops right away. Get this on record. There are way too many people out there who will follow through. Not saying it will happen but you need to get this documented. It is a threat and maybe they can get fingerprints off the letter. Don't touch it anymore. Let the cops take it.

I put each piece of paper (the hand written letter, the receipt from Bath and Body Works, and the Envelope), I put each one in it's own zip lock bag.

I then went to the backyard and told my landlord. She said "oh my god, how sick is this'?

Alan just woke up (what a way to wake up!!!).

He's getting dressed.

We are contacting the police.

Oh, I called up Bath and Body Works, they are re-sending the order via Fed Ex and told me "your package was sent originally through your local post office.

This post office ALWAYS screws up stuff. Always. We are always getting other people's mail, from different blocks away.

Personally, anyone who can draw a tiny cat and put 666 under it, and print (seems very childish to me). But we're doing everything we should be doing.

Anyone read about the 17 year olds who put Dulcolax in a home made cake and hand delivered it to their teachers? It was in my local newspaper two days ago. The whole story. These were not nutty kids, these were good kids, close to the teachers, on the cheerleading squad, and they thought it would be a hoot on the remaining days of school to pull a prank.

They are going to be charged with a crime. They are all mortified. They honestly didn't know the teachers would be rushed to the hospital.

Want to know what scares me? Not the kids who pulled this prank. They are stupid, cluelss kids who will obviously get killed by their parents, and they'll pay the price. It's what one of THEIR friends said when this whole thing went down.

After the 17 year olds were arrested, one of their friends was interviewed and she said "So what's the big deal, so what if they go the bathroom, it's only laxitives for god's sake".

NOW THAT SCARES ME.!!! That's a criminal mentality.

oh brother.

The police will need for you to give them the evidence and a written statement. Be usre to tell them that you touched the contents of the package so that they can rule-out your fingerprints and nail the idiot that did this.

Be very vigilant when going to the store by yourself.

My wife carries mace and something that causes more permanent damage if needed. Consider the mace first.

I am ALWAYS vigilant when going to the store. I live in a very closed neighborhood. Lots of houses, lots of stores. Everybody knows each other.

Want to know what I think happened? Someone stole my body butter, threw out the box, some idiot found the empty box with my Bath and Body Works receipt in it, decided I was stupid and careless for throwing it in the street (as the letter indicates) and decided to TEACH me a lesson.

The nonsense about drawing the tiny cat with 666 underneath it, (well, this is bothering Alan like crazy, he thinks it's a devil worshiper, etc.).

Good Lord.

We are waiting for them to show up, and Yes I know to tell them that I touched it, and also my landlord touched the letter.

But honestly, do you really think they are going to do anything. This also violates Postal Laws. Don't the postal authorities need the letter, envelope, etc.

I really doubt that the police are going to do anything. There is no return address on the envelope. Nothing is signed.

They will probably say "oh somebody is trying to frighten you".

We don't have a car, hence the person who wrote this, does not know me because everybody who knows us knows that for 7 years, Alan has been without a car and can't drive.

So this is a nut who found the empty box and is trying to screw with my head.

And screw with it he most certainly did. It also could be a woman who wrote this. Printed it actually.

I'll let you know what happens after the police come. IF THEY EVER DO!!!!

melody ... have you called the post office??? talk to the post master ... let them know the details .... mail service may suck and addresses not correct ect... but since 9-11 and then all the pipe bombs that were let in the mail boxes the postal regulations have cracked down on any type of threat ... postal inspectors will want to investigate this as it is a federal offense ... even if the police seem to not want to do anything, the postal inspectors will ... and believe me you do not want to be on the receiving end of postal inspectors ... they is federal and they dont quit ... be safe girl

Melody, I pretty much agree with FranksAngel. The Federals will look into it & if in the end, they find who did this, that person will get in trouble (& you will have the last laugh). It sounds like a stupid joke that some idot pulled, but you never know.
