Wiix

This could have been her way of trying to make ammends with you. How would "screwing with her" solve the problem you have with her disturbing your peace? I think it could make matters worse.

mrsD 06-20-2008 11:37 AM

I really think....

that this troublesome neighbor has an AGENDA....

Everything she does, is creating a REACTION in people.

Everytime you REACT you reinforce the behavior.

IGNORE, is what needs to be done here.

There are ACTORS and REACTORS in our psychological world.

If you are being manipulated into reacting.... you lose...she is the one holding the cards for HER agenda.

It is very human to want to get even, but doing so in some circumstances is a very bad idea.

The screams, the theft of the print, the public behavior in the street... are all actions that the tenants are reacting to.

Wiix 06-20-2008 11:55 AM

I just said I "Feel" like screwing with her. That doesn't MEAN I will actually DO anything. I am just finding this situation kind of humerous. ;) I probably wouldn't DO anything to complicate things. I don't have to. Some people make a lot of commotion over nothing anyway. I don't NEED the added trouble of intentionally contributing to more of it.

I'll just Watch what happens next. I really don't have to DO anything.

Next to the cops coming into my house last night, this thread is the most fascinating thing I have ever read.

This person sound completely out of touch with reality.

Sadly, I have seen this in the workplace... I won't go into details here, but it is not "new" to me.

When I first encountered this type of behavior I was surprised, but I am no longer.... it is a form of intimidation and manipulation. When in the workplace it is to destroy productivity. It is especially heinous when medications that can KILL someone or make them sick are involved. The screaming also was employed...anything to startle and upset a coworker.

In a residential setting, it must have another motive.

That is why I suggest caution.

I too have seen this all too often since I moved to Central U.S. All I can say about anything BEFORE this is just White bread. ;) I guess IF I grew up with this it wouldn't bother me like it has. I've been here 20 years and sometimes the things they do STILL upset me, it's MEANT to. Some "Ilk" just CRAVE attention.

MelodyL 06-20-2008 05:02 PM

People who feel the need to "manipulate" their surroundings must have some kind of personality disorder, don't you think???

Who are "they?" Why is this woman's race a factor? I've seen people of all colors crave attention - it's not specific to a certain race. What is it about black people that upsets you?

WTF?

WHOA!:confused::confused::confused:

Where did that come from???? Did you mean a specific heritage/race, Wiix??? Use of the term "white bread" in my experience means only that things were bland. Am I just a Pollyanna??

It wasn't the "whitebread" comment, it was "the things they do still upset me" comment that caused me to wonder.

If anyone should be offended, it would be the Scottish population for the term "ilk". How dare she?

MY White Bread upbringing is just what it implies. Did I SAY ANYTHING about about Black people?? Yes, I am White, what of it? My way of life has vast differences from many other races so what. Can't I have my own identity? Just because I am White and honour my race doesn't make that an offense to other races. THEY honour their own, I do the same. It IS my right.

okydoky

this thread is steadily heading downhill and so this is a polite warning for a change in direction...tho goodness knows where to:rolleyes: but if it heads any further downhill than it already is I will have to lock it before more people are offended than already have been

please remember that it is not just the racial and other offense that may be taken, but also that we have many members here who do have mental health issues and other disorders who are being offended by some of the commentary here.

thanks

SandyC 06-20-2008 07:56 PM

Wii, I don't think Cindy was directing that at you at all. She was simply, correct me if I am wrong Cindy, trying to figure out how race was implied by anyone.

I have to say race, in my opinion, has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. I really wish some would leave that out of the mix. Can't people get mad today without it being about race?

Kathy, while I understand your sensitivity to race, etc. I think you may have misunderstood the terms being used. This is simply about a woman screaming and switching pictures.

Let's all breath and try to be sensitive to everyone, not just one.

*heading out of thread now*

Sorry, Wiix, I was just teasing you. "Ilk" is a common term used in Scotland for kin, or clan of family. I didn't find anything even remotely offensive in your posts.

I'll try not to tease too much anymore.:o

Aarcyn 06-20-2008 08:32 PM

not wanting to fan the fire but

there are just some colloquiolisms that exist.

Before you get after KathyM, a "white bread community" has generally been understood as a caucasian, WASP neighborhood.

Being an American Mutt, my skin tone is a unique blend that amounts to being my old and beautiful self.

All that being said, crazy is crazy. Mental illness takes all sorts of forms. I am thinking that is what you meant by "they." I think "they" exist all over the world.

Road rage is crazy. This screaming is crazy.

Living in close quarters, i.e. apartments must be difficult. When I was in college, I would crank up my stereo. I had the stupid idea that everyone liked my taste in music.

There is an old saying, " You cannot pick your relatives or your neighbors."

Wiix 06-20-2008 09:09 PM

Yes, I am a WASP. Should I feel bad about that?? Of course not. And this is NOT a racial thread nor a mental illness thread. It's about a neighbor, MY neighbor who, by the way is Screaming right now, AGAIN. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/im...onsb/crazy.gif

AND IF someone choses to MAKE this thread about issues not intended THEN I think THEIR posts should just be deleted and not the thread locked. That's not fair.

Chemar 06-20-2008 09:29 PM

ok enuff now

sorry but this thread has run its course
