usually sandy, they can make the font bigger. i haven't heard where caps help better than bigger font, but i may be wrong.

yes, all caps actually worsens my vision problems, as everything becomes blurred when I try to read them.

using larger font would be far preferable to all caps

as AMN's sleuthing showed here on another thread the software automatically converts ALL CAPS to Mixed Caps To Lower The Volume

I have heard from several people that typing in caps helps them. I have seen it on a chat site as well. It's hard for me to read it too, but when I typed in lower caps I was asked to type in caps.

I agree Sandy. Most people in chat prefer all caps. For some reason, it's easier to read.

YES I TOO HAVE BEEN ASK TO MAKE MINE CAPS IN CHAT ROOMS TOO

I am not sure i get all this who cares caps or non caps, what words were typed were they hurtful ? were they kind? were they helpful? were they silly? thats what matters the quality of the conversation NOT THIS or this

Bobbi,
I was thinking if she is new to computers - she might also need info on safety and security.

How to be safe with online activities, as well as having good protection on her machine.

Maybe send the info about safety and security with the netiquette info, in a group to her and she might accept it better.

good point Jo, didnt even think about security and all that. and slipping the netiquette in there at the end with the rest of it may come across less obtrusive to this person, maybe after she reads its, they will understand
