Tongue

thanks for always making me smile sir Moi

errr

welll

almost always but then at least we have Alffe and Doody pullin your ears to get ya back in line

just a reminder that one can often read into another's written words what is no way their intention.... and it seems to me that happened in some posts above, where a rhetorical question on a subject was taken as something personal

sooooo

with that commercial break....we return to your regularly scheduled programming

yes yes...that happens a lot...Alpho on one side and doody on the other side pulling moi's ears...

they call that Chinese Torture #457...the auricular tag-o-war...

circa: 1497 when a famous Chinese General Chicken, was having his earlobes checked to see if he would lay brown eggs or white eggs. When all of a sudden, he was outranked by the Col. Tso that came from a small town in Kentucky, U.S.A

years later, Col Tso opened up both his first Chinese restaurant in KY and his first Fried Chicken Restaurant.

but to distinguish the two dishes, he paid homage to the General in the Chinese restaurant and named it "General Tso's Chicken"

while he simply named the other one, KFC...

true story...I saw it on the HerStory Channel...right next to the English Channel...

Thanks for the laugh Moi and somehow, your quite interesting way of getting me to think differently. lol

BTW, I am not against anyone from China, nope not what I meant. I am just appalled at how people are having their houses taken away but that happens everywhere just as I stated in my other post.

And can we please leave the pets out of this? lol

LOL, Sandy, I have no problems, absolutely no problems...and yes, I know that...

imagine a place, where even joking about politicians can get one jailed for 20 years or more...

freedom of speech, ya gotta love it...

and yes, I know what you and everyone else here meant...

I hesitated about letting my ancestory out...I've kept it quiet for 10 years since I've been with the forums cause of various reasons and one of them, is to not thwart conversations and speeches but also hoping for open minds...

every country has misconceptions about other countries. Even if we get to visit them we still don't get to know all of it...

I wasn't here to make a political statement...just wanted to shed some light on the folks that have created me who and then rejected me and shipped me here...(just kidding)

Thank you for sharing Moi.

Now, in case your wondering, nope, I still feel the same way about those people who lost their homes. You didn't think I'd change my mind now did you? I know you wouldn't want me to.

It has nothing do to with the people there, it has to do with the politics yada yada you know? It happens here too. I almost feel so bad because it's like they are embarrassed by their poor residents. I pray that doesn't happen here in Chicago but it looks like things are already heating up about it. Ugh

Just please don't start arguing or fighting. I can see why Nae was insulted (I felt insulted for her), but then Aarcyn explained and well...I just really like everyone here.

politics and religion...politics and religion...politics and religion... those topics get so heated I don't even wanna get into them with people I know don't share my views.

Like Chemar said, the written word can and IS so misconstrued! I figured this was coming but hoped not. And I'd also hate to have any members from China be offended and I hope they know that isn't the intention of the thread.

There was a very interesting show on ABC? last night (at 9 pm central) talking about these very things that was very interesting. The explanations didn't thrill me but it was so totally related to this thread.

Oh never mind! All much too confusing for me!

Doody I think we're all good. I too hope no one is insulted.

One a lighter note, Jim and I were looking at fishing and billiard competitions through the PVA. Look out world, Jim's got a stick!

LOL Moi you Know you are MY secret Asian man......Well Asian Italian Jewish sumo wrestler man!!! And I wouldn't return you for all the money in China! Not even if you ate all of the cat and only left me the bones and hairball!

*****that was so not a racist statement but an inside joke with Moi and I****

I think ALL people should be treated with dignity thus the point of this thread basically and while I do not support the Chinese gov'ts choices or some of our own for that matter, the average Joe whether we like it or not have little impact on the political wheels!

Instead of watching the televised Special Olympics (very passive if you ask me) participate perhaps in some form of the more localized Special Olympics. It might be an area, a county, a state, but usually all around, just not heard of usually by those without special needs children.I have helped in Special Olympices, given the charge of more severly handicapped children. Diaper changing, drooling and toileting may be involved. There are Tournaments of Champions, for Emotionally Disturbed. Often children could not participate as their guardians couldn't or wouldn't drive them, so I'd pick up and fill my car. There were good moments and bad from what parents came and the children who recognized they weren't first, medal or not. Working with these kids does not involve any special skills, just being able to not react to verbal abuse as a result of child's inability to deal with situations or ability to get you hands dirty. Hard? Yes. Rewarding? YES. Be pro-active, not passive. Shoot, just sit in the stands and cheer, buy what is sold if it is organization generated. Support comes in many forms. Can't go? Send some money to somewhere. Well yeah, I was a Special Ed Teacher and sound it!! We all have different causes.
