Back from the neuro. Dang it, I still have MS! lol We had some great conversations in respect to reviewing the years since diagnosis (it's only been 2 1/2 years since diagnosis).

Year one - serial flares with very little break between them, year 2 adjusting, year 3 now what can I do with my life.

Anyhow, I need to go for more extensive neuropsych testing and possibly occupational therapy to help me learn new ways to overcome my cognitive deficits. Since my 1st neuropsych eval, which I had done as requested by the SSDI medical review board, some cognitive things (visual memory and information processing and questionable memory issues - sometimes I'm fine and sometimes I'm not) have not come back as I had hoped.

Cognitive issues is my most upsetting symptom. A bum leg is just that - a bum leg. To lose your cognition functions is totally different. It is hard to explain but I know you all understand. It is hard to go from a completely functioning intelligent person (131 IQ) to not fully functioning (IQ 99).

To go from being able to handle complex thinking, functioning, and tasks to barely comprehending the task is devastating to me. I feel like a complete idiot.

OK, sorry for the small rant/vent.

As for DD18, lucky for her I had a clonic spasm this morning and she had to do the driving today. I got her alone in the car where she couldn't go anywhere. lol We had a talk. She immediately took the typical daughter attitude and I told her that we were having an adult to adult conversation (with a slight mix of Mom). I am so glad we had this talk.

I asked her to do me a favor and schedule an appointment with the doctor to discuss birth control. She didn't want to go on them for 2 reasons - she's not having sex and her friend went on them and got depressed and gained weight. Boy, was she misinformed about b.c. I did tell her that there were different types of b.c. and that each have side effects and this is why she needs to go to the doctor and discuss this with him. He will help her determine which one will be best for her - not her friends. I additionally told her that most sexually active women are on them and if b.c. caused the reaction her friend had then most sexually active women would be fat and depressed. LOL She did laugh at that.

Hopefully, something sunk in and she will be responsible if she decides she wants to have sex with this boy.

Hi all. Been reading the posts, but my brain is in slug mode today - LOL. Went out to do some shopping, but came back home quick when those left turn arrows took time to register.

Thinking of making chili for dinner. We've got the ingredients, and I haven't made it for awhile.

Haven't done as much as I would've liked today, but at least the one chore that absolutely needed done has been done. :)

Hope everyone has a good evening. :grouphug:

No, sorry, it doesn't. :( I thought about it, though, and thought it might melt before it got to you. I sent a card, too, but separately. Why didn't I combine them? Not sure if you'll get them at the same time or not. Does chocolate travel well? Maybe something like M&M's would survive the trip. :)
