You sound like my father, Curious .... he ALWAYS says to gargle with salt water! And then if I were with him, he would make me a tall hot lemonade with freshly squeezed lemons and honey .......... MMMmmmmm......

Hey everyone...hoot-hoot!

Scrabble, my brain was in low gear last night, so I didn't get around to saying this, but CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I know you really wanted that job, and now YOU'VE GOT IT!!! I think that's great!

Curious, I feel bad now. The first night you've had the time to chat for a bit, and I wasn't up to it. Isn't it crazy how those things work...

Kell, if I ain't careful, I'm gonna turn into an early-bird like you. Well...not quite as early, but still... I have been sleeping a lot better for ten days in a row now! Yahoo!

Hoot-hoot!

Well I was asleep when you were here earlier, Idealist, as I stayed home from work today. I didn't have much of a voice this morning and I thought it best to get more rest and not risk totally losing my voice. When I phoned the dispatch operator for the on-call Educational Assistants this morning he said I wasn't the only one who had phoned in sick today.

It is good to know I have 2 days/week at this elementary school so I know where I'm going and I can have a chance to get to know the students and staff there. It would be even better if I could get more regular work as then I could get back on the benefit plans.

Kell, I had regular work as an Educational Assistant for the last half of the school year at a high school but I was laid off at the end of June due to lack of funding. That is why I'm working on-call, again. Luckily I have been called out every day since the start of school in September but, aside from a 3 week stint last month, most calls are just a day at a time at all different schools and all grades from Kindergarten to grade 12. Good experience but tiring too.

Idealist ... 10 days in a row!! Wooo-hooo!! That is good news for your sleeping pattern! I hope it continues for you. Just keep trying to stick with a routine and don't let the other night owls keep you up too late!

Kell, I like your new kitty avatar.

Curious, are you hanging around tonight? How has your day gone so far?

And anyone else who wants to join in here, please feel free to say 'hi'.

Scrabble...yeah...Woohoo! For BOTH of us...

Now if they'd just give ya a five-day-a-week position...

Sounds like that scratchy throat of yours is becoming something more. You rest easy and take care of yourself, girl...

I'm doing better, thanks. I felt I had a bit more energy today so I was up and down the stairs to get some laundry caught up and then I felt a bit woozy.

My kids were glad to come home to the smell of pork chops in the slow cooker and my daughter said she was even 'dreaming' of a dinner like that as she was walking home after choir practice.

I was glad to wake up after my 2 hour nap to the smell of dinner too!

Then I pulled out a frozen apple pie that needed to be baked so now we have that good smell too .......
