Hi Betty:

You're still a kid at 37. I always wanted to say that. My 100 year old neighbor always calls me "kid"and so does my 82 year old landlord and my 91 year old uncle.

So to me, you're a kid.

lol

Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and the wrong. Sometime in your life you will have been all of these.

Betty:

I completely forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you when I replied to your post.

See what turning 61 does to one's mind?

God I hope I don't turn into a doddering fool as I age.

And I hope you are feeling okay today.

I just went for my walk. I try to look at all the falling leaves and the breathtaking beauty of fall and I try not to focus on whatever is going wrong in my life.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But when a baby smiles at me (like my little neighbor who is 2 just did), well, all is right with the world. I mean, who can resist the smile of a baby, right?

You take care hon.

Melody,
Thank you. I do also try to find the positive things especially when I am in a lot of pain. I sure hope you are doing well also. Take care.

Betty:

I love what you wrote after your signature.
EVERYTHING HAS BEAUTY, BUT NOT EVERYONE SEES IT!!!

Very profound statement and very appropriate in this day and age. We should all live by that statement. At least we should TRY TO. I aim to do this every day of my life. I'm a very different person than I was in my 20's and 30's. I've learned to be kind to my fellow man. Because we never know what they are going through.

Melody,
This is true. However, I can't take credit for the statement. My daughter is into oriental symbols and their meaning. When I was redoing her room as well as her door, she wanted to find something special for her door. She found that phrase and I fell in love with it. The statement really is true. It is all in how you look at things and we should all look at things that way and be kinder to our fellow man.

Your DAUGHTER found this symbol? How lovely that you have such a compassionate daughter.

She will do great things in her adulthood.

Because of what she is beginning to do NOW!!

Take care,

Yes she did. She is wonderful. At 12 years old, she is trying to figure out who she is. She is compassionate sometimes. It just the age and the changes she is going through both physically and mentally. I keep telling her she is going to do awesome things in her life as long as she remembers to treat others how she wants to be treated. She is my world and because of that she is also very spoiled. We have an older daughter that is 24yrs old, married, and living on her own. Therefore, for the most part, our youngest is an only child. But she has a good heart and very smart. We are so proud of her and love her--she is the center of our world. Thank you and have a wonderful day. Hope all is well with you.
