hi everybody!!
I was off sulking, because this darn computer FROZE, just when I was about to break 16,000,000 on TextTwist (wah wah wah!) today was Market at dawn, and a good haul of stuff for all my beebies. yes, Wiz, Gandalf is still majorly peeved... Gwynneth walks with Connor, Larry (turned out to be a girl!) chose Moe, and Curly went to goose heaven, via a neighbor's oven... and Glinda (Mother Goose) is busy-busy-busy, babysitting 3 dozen chicken babies... we can't tell WHAT gender Glinda is, as "she" mates with nobody... seems totally disinterested, lol! so, where I had a PACK of seven geese that roamed together, now there's two singles, and two pairs... very strange, but mating season can do that. we're desperately seeking new blood for our flock, but geese are HARD to find around here... the one place way way down south has been inaccessible since Tropical Storm Arthur (lol, they're named the Funny Farm!) Belize news, we're still a "disaster area" but the flooding is finally receding, thank heavens.... Twink, it looks like Hurricane Paloma is going to head north of us, but it's hard to tell, it's so huge... we'll probably only get feeder bands, and more rain (which we really DON'T need right now!) I'm praying for the people of the Caymans and Cuba. A new record for the hurricane season of 2008 This year is now the only hurricane season on record in the Atlantic that has featured major hurricanes in five separate months. (snip) This year's record-setting fivesome were Hurricane Bertha in July, Hurricane Gustav in August, Hurricane Ike in September, Hurricane Omar in October, and Hurricane Paloma in November. Paloma is now the second strongest November hurricane on record in the Atlantic. http://www.wunderground.com/blog/Jef...?entrynum=1151 ooops, dinner's ready, gotta go, will finish later. FRANK, get some friggin' REST, dude, and remember how MUCH you love the hospital, that should help you work a wee bit less... |
yes frank rest enough to not have to visit hospital at all in near future....hehe
hugss all... Just busy working, and laundry and life....been taking the neurontin once a day, not the three....seems to keep the tingling pain at bay...but also dont feel those wierd spells of downness (is that a word lol)...so woohoooo Colder today, but cant complain been having some decent temps for oct/beginning of nov....for this area... well going to shower and maybe get to bed, and read a bit....hugsss,sarah |
I'm trying to rest I really am, ok well sort of, Fin understands what I mean:D:rolleyes:
Ok you are all family as far as I am concerned, so you all can deal with this lol just kidding, I figure I could toss this out here and see what happens. I have been contemplating part time work, but herein lies my problem what can I do, that i am not walking a lot, standing a lot, using my eyes a lot, too hot, too cold, that pretty much leaves me ??? I recently got into a conversation with some lady at a docs answering service, on the phone, yeah I'm one of those weirdos I talk to everyone, any who turns out she has MS also and finding work was very hard but the answering service she said she can stand sit stretch its part time its indoors no weather issues, Just wondering any one else got any ideas on what direction I can look, I mean I have real good phone manners and a good voice for phone service or so I have been told before, and or if anyone has had a job like this at an answering service, I got to do something, yeah my debs gonna get PO'ed about this post, sorry girl. Just been thinking a lot going to call a service that helps folks like me(weirdo) lol helps folks with disabilities and handicaps to find work, I never knew I could miss my old job, a job I had come to despise, I now long to be able to saddle a bag and walk my keister off and mis-delivery the mail:yikes: hope all of you had a pleasant saturday, Kay glad you are not obsessed :eek:with the game lol 16 mill cool thats really scary lol seriously that is real good, they got any game shows down in Belize? you all have a great night and wonderful Sunday |

:D:wink::D seriously, I wear "armour" outside, long sleeves, long pants, etc. but de mosquitos got me anyway, I have bites on my NECK (vampire mossies?), and a dozen bites on my hands... sheesh, they're BAD this year, and being numb doesn't help much... I never feel a thing, until later. and I do all my exposure indoors, safely... I promise!:o:cool: the housepest has gone off the radar, nobody's heard from her since she left here... and now I'm torn between wondering, worrying, and relief. :p:confused::p NaeNae... so GLAD you're not lousy anymore... how's littly Livvy's new haircut? does she mourn the loss of her curly locks? Frank, again with the reminders... from a gal who KNOWS... work for shorter bits, rest more, and stay warm in bed with a book (use a clip-on book-reading lamp if the light bothers our AngelBabyGirl), INSTEAD of getting up and going online... you'll get back to sleep faster that way... it works for me, try it! |
Barb, ok dug out the box for you. I'm taking Acetyl-L-Carnitine. Took about a week for it to start having any noticeable effect - one of which is don't take it after 11 am. ;) It helps take the really bad edge off this fatigue without all the wacky reactions I got from the prescribed anti fatigue meds. Still get tired and can still over do, but have noticed a difference.
Renee, sorry to hear about the scare at work. Hope things get better soon. Kay, hope the storm passes you guys by. Stay safe. Frank, If you think you can do it, it's worth a shot. Definitely talk it over with Deb. I know, for me, answering the phone became the hardest part with my old job with the cog fog hitting at the most inopportune times. I've speculated going back to another part time gig, but hubby has stressed that he doesn't want me to get that ragged again unless I have to. Holly, Sorry to hear about the puppy. Prayers being sent. Char, Glad you had a good time at the seminar. Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug: ~~~~~~ No sales, but that's alright. Kinda figured it might happen. Got a lot of good reactions, information, and advice tho. Also have a juried show that I've been pointed towards that I'll submit stuff to here soon. Have a few things to finish up for other stuff, so crossing fingers I can get all this stuff done this coming week. uploaded the new pic to my albulm. It's a little fuzzy, but I took four pics and the others were more blurry than that one. |
I like the new picture you added Fin. :)

mornin' Frankie-me-boyo!
been pondering your dilemma, (to go back to work, or not...) and I desireth muchly to share a wee bit o'wisdom, garnered over 2 decades of living with this charming companion we call MS. but first, I have to ask, is it a need of yours to have fulfilling things to do daily, a meaningful contribution to society... a sort of a personal need? or is your desire to work more based on a financial need, to contribute to your family? because it makes a difference. I know you're worried about Deb working herself to the bone and all, and also, it's hard to run a family on the pittance we get from SS or retirement. I don't know much about your living situation, but is it possible to create a small truck garden, and get a few laying hens? that way, your work is more flexible, and you're still contributing to the family... with something tangible and edible. many neighborhoods are removing restrictions on backyard livestock, due to the economic crunch, and people's need for healthier, more local food. the restrictions are usually under 6 hens, and NO roosters (lol!) the nice thing about backyard livestock is how little they really need, you're a do-it-yourselfer kinda guy, and you can slap something together with scraps, for a coop, and nestboxes... (lol, my pal in Arkansas even got surplus AMMO boxes, and used them for the hens...) pallets, wooden crates, whatever... they're happy, with whatever you manage, as long as it protects them from wind, rain, and snow. feeders can be made from scraps as well, and even crafting supplies, no need for fancy "bought" feeders and waterers. and the work is spread out in BITS over the day, so you can rest... anyway, for all I know, you live in a city apartment, but even there, you can still grow food on the roof, or the balcony, and again, it's good because the work is broken up into small bits... no need to wipe yourself out TRYING to do a whole day's work. I know, I tried (with the SSDI assistance programs) to go back to work twice since I retired in '93. it never worked... because I'd FORGET, and feel almost normal again, but I'm not, and never will be... I can go in spurts, when the energy's there, but the drag and toll of driving somewhere, getting showered, dressed, oh, just too much on enough days... to make it impossible. there's always home-based businesses, everything from stuffing envelopes, to part-time home-daycare... for just one or two kidlets... whatever it takes to supplement the family income with a little urgently-needed cash. anyhowitzer (to steal a lovely term from our Moose-Dude), keep thinking, and keep your mind open to possibilities, but mainly, look for home-based stuff that's under the radar (so to speak), because doing the paperwork to get BACK on disability can be just as taxing as work, and they get really strange about it ("You proved you COULD work, now get back to WORK!") :D good luck with your search, and here's a  |
that's been one of my concerns is the messing up of disability, I was told I could make x amount without interfering with my disability, but, well honestly i don't trust the post office and i don't trust the govt so, I am hesitant to even attempt it, but cash flow is killing us here, we are trying a couple other angles still , possibly food stamps and help with the electric and gas from liheap will be just what we need to keep me here for the kids and not messing my disability or ms up any more, im sure some of this has to do with running into a couple guys from work, and all i can think about is how much better off we were when I was working, this is slowly tearing me apart inside, I was raised old fashioned this is my job to take care of everyone here, and I cant it sucks,
so hows the java girl mine is brewing as we speak, so ya got to send me a link to this game you play I wants to try it and see how poorly i can do |
