Lord it sounded like they were havin a party when I called, and I of course knew it was Frank immediately when he got on the phone and said Heyyyyy Preevert! LOL Bergie, Sandy's dog was even barking! I finally got home at almost 8 yall! The good news is one dose of antibiotics and my tummy already feels a little better...still hurts though.

So Frank? When yall making a group road trip to Arkansas?

Good Morning Everyone! :grouphug:

No time today to catch up on everyone! Saturaday and Sunday evenings we lost power due to the wind - Sunday night it was off for almost 8 hours starting around 6:30 so we were up most of the night worrying about hearing the alarm on the cell phone so DBF could go to work.

Yesterday I went with DD2 to tour a college. The 2+ hour drive down, the hour + tour and then the 2+ hour back wore me totally out for the day. I ended up building a fire and dropping on the couch for the rest of the day.

Speaking of needed a fire! We had 60 degrees all weekend and then Sunday night it drops to 30 - brrrrrrr. Tomorrow the high is only suppose to be 30 all day! I hate to say it but the warm temps are gone I am afriad. :eek:

Glad you all had a great visit Sandy, Jim, Deb and Frank!

So Frank when are you making a group road trip to Maine? :wink:

Kitty 11-18-2008 07:23 AM

Hey Char! Sorry about the power outages....that's one thing I hate about bad weather.

If it makes you feel any better the high here in my area today is 40. And the weatherman said it might not even reach that!! This is unusual for mid-November here in GA. I wonder if this means a colder than usual winter for us?

I'd love to take a road trip to Maine.....but it's only wishful thinking at this point...:(

DM 11-18-2008 09:02 AM

Morning all! AYUP, the coffee is most welcome this morn, as it's only about 20 degrees right now, but at least the sun is out.

Hey Kell, I'll pick you up, as I have to go to Kohl's today too! *wishful thinking, sigh*
Nice pic Sandy!! Who were those two? Great pic and nice to see you all got together again. Loved the smiles on Frank and Deb's faces. :) Did Jim behave himself?? I know Franko probably didn't! :D

Have a good day all and think Spring! :grouphug:

Good morning all! Where are all the singing chirping birds this morning? LOL

Sandy, Jim, Frank & Deb - Glad you all had a good time yesterday.

Char - Sorry to hear about the power outage and hope you all were able to stay warm enough.

Oh the college visits. We'll be attending some soon. It's the out of state ones we're going to have trouble with. DD17 is applying to one in Colorado and 2 in Washington. Good luck to you and your DD on choosing the right college for her.

Weave - Wishing you luck on the jobs.

Barb - I love your straight and to the point post. LOL I hope today is better for you.

Sarah - I tried to "golf" once. Actually, it was just at the driving range. I thought I would do good at it since I played field hockey. NOT!!! I got so mad 'cause I couldn't hit that dang little ball. That was the end of golfing for me. I never made it past the driving range. LOL

Hope you are starting to feel better.

Hi to everyone I may have missed. Hugs to all and wishes for a great day.

~~~
Some of you may remember that friend of DD18's that was really having a rough time and just wanted to "end it all." Well, things started going better for him. He moved in with his mom and was really happy about that and things were starting to look better.
Last night I got a call from him. Once he moved back to his mom's he found out she was doing drugs. He confronted her and she yelled at him and kicked him out of the house. (Typical addict behavior). He has been staying with various friends but never wants to over stay his welcome. Well, the past few nights he has been "sleeping" under a bridge here in town. Of course it's called sleeping but not really as he was terrified.
Well, we had him come stay with us last night and today will be spent trying to get him some help and a place to stay. We talked about it last night and came up with a plan. So my day today will be spent doing that.
Wish us luck and say a few prayers for him.
back from dawn wholesale market, now sorting through the haul ("grading" the garbage) for immediate use, or "can be stuffed in the fridge for tomorrow and Thurs."
got half the critters fed, and gotta go do the rest, but first, A BREAK, and a check up on my favorite busy bees!
:grouphug:
hubby's making noises about doing a feed run to the Mennonite enclave, and I'm more in favor of taking a nice long nap.
who do you think will "win" the discussion?
stay tuned, for more Days of Our Life in the Jungle!
Sox, hope the appointment goes ok and the doc can help you out. :hug:
Renee, hope the meds help and you feel better soon. :hug:
Char, Sorry to hear about the power outage. Totally understand the lack of sleep from it. :hug:
Kelli, LOL. I'm a sucker for the animals needing adoption too. I only go to PetSmart occassionally because I cannot pass up looking at all the kitties in their adoption center. But our plate is full with our current two, even though I want to take them all home. :o
DM, it's cold and sunny here too. I think winter has begun.
Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:
~~~~~~~~~~

Morning, morning. Sitting here sipping my coffee. I plan on resting until my doc's appointment this afternoon. Had a bit of a rough night last night, so gonna take it easy.

One good piece of news is that I don't have to worry about Thanksgiving. His mom doesn't want to travel, so we're going up to see them and help out with the meal. Probably go up the night before to help pull italian bread for stuffing. It's an old family recipe and it is awesome!

DM 11-18-2008 09:45 AM

Feel better Soxy! Let us know how your appt goes. :hug:

Vonn07 11-18-2008 10:06 AM

Kelly - enjoyed our chat too ... in the meantime, I got 'word' about working too hard, studing and trying to get zzz's ... ;)

UPDATE:

not sure about entering anything into the fine arts show ... I have some things made (can only bring 3) ... but, I'm not really ready ready yet ...

oh, Kelly - I'll pick you up to go to Maine to see Char & RW ... but, I can't promise you that I'd come back!!!
