Had a good evening...a friend of daughters and her mom, (that I have gotten to know) came over to visit...I made a breakfast dinner for us all...pancakes, some blueberry, bacon, and scrambled eggs.
Then Chris the other mom, had brought some stuff to make a quick dessert...mmmm it was good and easy...

you take saltine crackers, spread them out flat all over a pam sprayed cookie sheet, flat no overlap. Then you heat up one stick of butter with one cup brown sugar to carmalize, pour that over the crackers.

spread carefully with spatula....put that in oven 400degrees for 3 minutes...pull out..and sprinkle whole bag of choco chips over this...mmmm

place it in oven...(that is off but still hot) with door open for few moments...till you see the choco chips melting....pull out..spread choco chips...mmmm then place the cookie tray right into freezer....

once frozen break them apart with spatula...or whatever...into chuncks..or the squares. mmmmmmmmm

they are good...

ok..so we had a good visit, now Mikayla headed to their house for couple hours....and Chris will run her home.

I have to run to store for milk, and also keep eye on my 9 year old daughter, she is starting coughing..and into fit mode..where she cant stop...reminded me of like when I have a cold and get a bit of asthma...

so I ran a hot hot shower, with door closed, till room got steamy...then had her sit in there taking some slow deep breathes, and then changed water to warm so she could also shower..and still get the steam part.

still coughing but not as uncontrolled..might be a long night...hoping she slows up..and doesnt need to go in to be checked out.

ok gotta run to store..you know when Chris was here we had so much fun helping the kids make that dessert...that it reminded me of things I used to do with the older ones that I havent with younger crew..like art fun and stuff....

so after they left..I had already had Christmas music still playing..and I started dancing with the little two...they were so full of joy and boy...it reminded me to try to focus less on how my body feels..and more on fun with them....and go with the flow....that way even if numb/pain whatever..I am having fun while hurting...hehehehe

hugsss all and night night, after store going to bed early ..try anyhow..work again tomorrow....hugsssss,sarah

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, today was a good day.

big haul at the market this morning at dawn, YAY & HOORAY !!

met some friends, had excellent tamales for breakfast by the river, went home, and got all my loot sorted, bagged, and stashed... fresh stuff for 200 birds, that fills TWO fridges !!

I pick out all the really bad stuff, and toss it in the compost, spread out the 2nd grade stuff for immediate consumption, and put the rest away in color-coded plastic bags, so I can do my chores with my brain in neutral.

black bag means use it first.

tan and white bags, use second.

blue and pink bags means premium grade goodies, un-torn whole lettuce leaves, and stuff like cauliflower leaves which keep well for DAYS.

in this way, I manage to keep all my critters happy, fat and sassy.

other news, five of my young female ducks are laying eggs...

Naughty NaeNae, please don't make me think about studs in chaps !!

I'm too OLD for that stuff...

lipstick, LOL !!

I made it home in one piece!! Walmart was crazy but I got everything I needed except popcorn. I love popcorn at night.

I also picked up some pretty xmas ribbon and black and red ornaments to adorn the small wheetle five foot tree in the basement. The red and black ornaments have gold through them. So pretty. I also picked up that new Almay foundation that starts out white and turns to the perfect shade on your face. It better not be like tanning lotion. lol

That's about it. I survived the MIL, barely. She started in on Jim like he was dumb and I had to sternly make her stop. He was remembering something from his childhood and she kept correcting him to the point I thought he'd run her over. I secretely hoped for it but maintained my composure. I did ask her in front of Jim why she feels she can stand up to Jim and tell him he's wrong but two years ago when her older son made it clear he was in the Navy, in front of her, she said nothing? (He was not in the Navy, ever) Oh, and how he started in on me about not getting invited to Chris's graduation YEARS ago. You know what she said? She said why make things worse and get him more mad? I said Oh OK, so let him rip into me and just stand there? Did I mention that was the first xmas in years together? I think Jim's brother was jealous he had to share xmas with us. Whatever, I just smiled and walked away. I fet bad for Jim because he's not stupid and she was being mean. I asked them both to let it go and told Jim later I wanted to rip her head off.

Ok, back from the depths of "what just happened?" The rest of the day went nicely. My cousin came over and fixed my humidifier and stayed awhile. My family is good to us.

Have a good night everyone and sorry to vent off about MIL. She just gets my goat at times.

Sandy, my MIL used to get to me, too. And I saw her nearly every day!!! She was never "quite right" but we all knew it and just sort of ignored most of what she'd say.

Luckily (I think ) we don't have much contact with her. I'll run into her now and then when out and about but hardly ever anymore.

Sarah, That simple recipe does sound good. mmm. gotta try it sometime.

I used to have childhood asthma, which was no fun. Used to sleep with a humidifier on my night stand as a kid. Still use one when my sinuses dry out to much from time to time to stave off the nosebleeds. Hope she feels better soon.

Sandy, ok to vent about the MIL. I don't get along with mine all the time either. Glad you got most of what was on your list tho.

Kay, Sounds like you've got a pretty good system going on. Glad you had fun today.

~~~~~~~~~
Had a good dinner with friends. Halfway through it some MS stuff started to act up, but kept on going anyways. Haven't seen them for awhile, and it was good to catch up.
Hope everyone has a good night.
yes Fin most of my kids, well three of them were known for nosebleeds anytime house dry...over the years....some dandys too when they were babies...wow...
good morning to all..
Happy Sunday...on way to work...thinking today might be another busy customer day..shoppers out..!!
I am focusing and reminding managers, that this is important time, to make sure customers have care, friendliness, doing extras for them, keeping lobby sparkling...and fast fast service..makign sure shifts run SMOOTH....
since sales up for holiday shopping, any newer customers we capture..that then have quality experience will be like hey...lets stop and eat...other parts of year....as this store I took over is quiet thru the rest of year....so trying to primp up sales...
other ideas, sampling days, and just getting crew and all focuses on the quality care towards customers...hugsss all, sarah
