Started grading at 11:00 (took a one hour break at 3:00) and I am finished for the day. I read and graded 15 papers, and have eight more to read. I will probably be able to finish them tomorrow. So far the students have received one D, two C's, four B's, eight A's. I think I am becoming too easy of a grader in my old age.

We have four inches of snow on the deck already. I guess I should get an early start in the morning? I need to go vacuum the floors now, they're dry after DH shampooed them. I think I'll keep him, lol.

Pant, pant, pant...
Whew!!! What a weekend!!!

We drove around and looked at 5 banquet halls in about 5 hours yesterday...I was an absolute b%$ch in the car...crabbing about my DH's driving...I was so darned stressed out...so embarrassed. I apologized to my DD and her fiance this morning...
Anyway, today we talked about the costs of our two favorite banquet halls. One was a country club, very pretty grounds with a forest nearby for pix. It had a larger room, but was about $1K morethan the other one that we liked, which was a bit more intimate, but beautiful also. It came down to the second, cheaper one giving us hors d'oeuvres for free, which they originally would have charged around $700 for. So we plunked down the deposit, and we have a wedding date for the DD...so relieved...July 31...a Friday, which gives everyone an extra day to recover

Kay, you are definitely one of the richer people, no matter if you have tile or dirt floors...what a wonderful life...

Barb...our current governor should be ashamed of himself...how does he get away with all of this?

Sandy...how pretty...your tree is beautiful!! and you have a lot outdoors...so nice of you to share with us

Sarah... gotta love sisses that reach out...our prayers go out to you...as your thoughts are with sis and her DH...

Well, I'm beat, after this busy weekend...take care all and I hope I'm not here at 3 am!!

We just got home today after a week in Lake Tansi, Tn. We had a wonderful time...we visited the local winery, cheese factory, bakery and a few other local places. My sister and BIL had never been there before so they really enjoyed going, I never get tired of visiting the same places. We also visited Wheeler's Orchard and he gave me a jar of Apple Cider Wine...how cool was that.

We go every time we visit there, I also got my favorite rhubarb jam... along with a few other goodies...

Well, I've got to put stamps on my cards that are being mailed from Santa Clause, Georgia tomorrow...

See you guys later.

Well, here I am during the nightly roid insomnia hour...grrr.

Hope everyone who was out of town for the holiday got home okay...not much snow here...DD and fiance got home to Wis. in good time...traffic, roads not bad for her.

How long are the effects from prednisone supposed to last? Just wondering...

I hate it when I wake up in the middle of the night and I am so hungry...I'm trying so hard not to gain any weight during this prednisone taper...and now that we have a wedding next summer, no time like the present to work off those pounds...

My DH put LED christmas lights on our tree...I hate them. They're so brash, it ruined the look of the tree...

Can you believe it's Dec 1 already?

Oh well, I guess I'll play a game...

Good Morning everybody!

DebbieD....I'm so sorry the roids are playing with your system. I remember when I took them I was miserable. It affected my sleep, too, although I'm not sure how I noticed as I'm not a good sleeper in the first place. I can just remember being soooo tired but never sleepy enough to fall asleep.

COK, are you still planning to come to the GTG on Wednesday? I hope so! I know you just got home.....

Barb, good luck with those papers that need grading. You'll get them done....hey, why not give a few to DebbieD - she's up and could probably help you out!! Hey, what did you think of the movie Australia? I've heard both good and bad.....the length of the movie was first on the "bad" list.

Kay, don't hurt yourself just for pretty feet!! I don't think I could even bend that far to reach my toes!! It's been so long since I've had a pedicure.....just no $$ for things like that now but it's OK. Nobody looks at my feet but me now anyway!!

B2Y, you be careful on those roads if you have to get out in all the mess. We're supposed to get a dusting of snow here which is unusual for us this early in the season, but of course I am thrilled!!

Wiz, wanna send your DH to my house next? My bedroom carpets need cleaning!! I'm glad he's helping you out like that.

Sarah, you're working all the time, girl! Don't overdo it.

Sandy, you and Jim stay warm today.....I'm wondering if you got all the snow they predicted? If you have to go out anywhere please be careful!

Fin, you're up that way, too, aren't you? You got some white stuff?

Sox, I know you've had a busy weekend.....hope you survived it!

Frank & Deb, did you get your decorations and lights all up before the snow? Frank, I think Deb had a few she wanted you to put up for her!!

I hope I mentioned everyone.....if I didn't I'll blame it on lack of sleep. Today will definitely be a nap day.

On a more serious note.....have any of you ever been so disappointed in someone that you just don't know what to think anymore? It's not either one of my boys.....but it is a close friend....and I'm just so disappointed and sad. Maybe it's just the time of year or circumstances in their life right now. I don't know.....but I feel like I've lost a friend that I've had for years and will never get them back....at least not the way it was before....*sigh*....and we've been friends for almost 13 years!

I had mine for Valentine's Day, in (lemme think...) 1992?

better than chocolates and baskets full of goodies, oh yeah!

Kell, I'd settle for "civilized" feet !!

(clean & trimmed toenails, which is basically all I managed)

I haven't had a PAID pedicure in a decade, right, no $$...

so, didja turn out to know my SIL's Georgia fambly ??

Barb, that BLOWS about the budget, and I had no idea about the ratio of state to private money, it's really down to 20% ??

and that truly sucketh mucheth about your pension contributions... that would surely keep me UP at night! (isn't that illegal?)

San, I was just kidding about the lights, they look lovely honey!

and it's so sweet and thoughtful of you to place strings so Jim can see and enjoy them,... ahhhh, I hope he knows how lucky he is!

my hubby is a complete bah-humbug about holidays, except for the FOOD, he goes all out, and produces miracles from what we can get here in the remote jungle.

so, we're not doing any decorating or gifting at all, except... I got something small and easily (read "cheaply!" ) internationally mailed for each of my kids.

tomorrow's project is to box and mail them... wish me luck!

my news: well, it looks like my sister managed to get her home sale rescinded (meth lab undisclosed in back yard), because the previous owners learned all the evidence she had compiled, and now they DON'T want to go to court... so, maybe she'll be able to pay me back soon ????

everybody CROSS their fingers !!!

and yes, Kell, I lost a dear friend who was religious ABOVE her children's needs, and spent crucial time hunting for a surgeon who would remove her son's brain tumor (in the adenoidal area) without using blood transfusions, which her religion prohibits. her son nearly died, and I lost my friend, because I was so angry about her putting what I think may be a misunderstanding of the Bible, BEFORE her son's very life.

yes, I was confused, upset, and disappointed... well, maybe "disappointed" isn't a STRONG enough word for what I felt...
