Morning everyone. I hope this finds all of you feeling better today and less in pain.

I went to the doctor today and explained my stomach cramps and how when I get up sometimes I feel nauseated and crampy. Other times I just move and it feels like someone stabbed me in the stomach. I told him when I eat I feel better. He confirmed what I suspected, I have an ulcer. I kind of knew it since I've had them before. So he up'd my Nexium to twice a day until I feel better. He said I need to slow down and I do too much. I know that but I am not doing anything I haven't done before. He said as we age things take more of a toll on us. Ok, doc, yes sir. Oh, and I ordered him some Cookies By Design gourmet cookies since I like him. lol They had a good sale going on.

Have a great day everyone. I am getting Jim up in a bit and we'll stay all snuggled up safe in our house.

Good Morning everyone! TGIF!!! One more week of classes and then final exam week!

I have finished with my classes for today, but I have a meeting in a few minutes. It is so funny getting this response to my hair. My students this morning (all girls) told me that they loved it. I plan on going over to our local mall (has about 20 stores) to se if I can finish up my christmas shopping this afternoon. It is supposed to snow again tomorrow. It is 21 degrees here right now, but the wind chill makes it feel like 9. I plan on reading a graduate thesis this weekend, wrapping presents, and doing cards. I would also like to go see the Christmas movie with Reese Witherspoon.

Sandy, TK, Wiz, Debbie D, and Jenn -- I do not have your addresses. Could you possibly pm me?)

Sandy, I am sorry about your ulcers. I understand what you are dealing with. I was dx with three stomach ulcers several years ago. I use to take Prilosec, but have since "graduated" to nexium too.

Kelly, I did not see a post from you. I may have missed it. Hope you are feeling better today.

Wiz, that is great that your Dh is helping out. I fired my cleaning people about 2 months ago and really miss them. Maybe I could hire your hubbie?

Debbie D, I would call your neuro and tell him/her about your muscles spasms. I take 10 mg of baclofen 2x per day and it seems to help. I still have stiffness, but do not have to deal with spasms on a regular basis.

Soxmom, I want some cookies!

Holly, I understand delaying the procedure until after the holidays too. It does not seem to make any difference if they are not going to start treatment until after the holidays.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Frank, sometimes H-Pylori can cause ulcers. I tested negative for it years ago when I had an ulcer. I am not sure if the doctor ordered a H-Pylori test today but the symptoms are consistant with my previous ulcer. I am sure it's peptic since I feel better when I eat. Some don't but this is how my last ulcer went. If it doesn't clear up by the added Nexium then he'll probably send me for an endoscopy I am sure. There isn't anything they can really do except prescribe meds either way. I'm already taking Nexium for Gerd. If it's H-Pylori then they would prescribe antibiotics.

Good morning all...I hate setting the alarm to get up...if I dont' I'll stay in bed all day...that would feel so good right now.

Sorry your not feeling well Sandy. My Mom just this past month had three hospital stays with her ulcers. They were bleeding. She got some blood on one of her visits.

I want to put my tree up but I need some people to help move furniture...grrr...kids all too busy!!

Gotta take a shower Mom's health care nurse is coming to help her bathe at 11 and I want the real hot water....so mean....

Sandy,

Sorry about the ulcer! I take Nexium too, and it works a lot better for me when I don't drink coffee. If I drink a cup it just tears up my stomach. I really miss it too. I hope the extra dose will help you feel better!

Tami,

I hope you can get help moving your furniture!

Barb,

I sent you a PM.

Hey wasn't someone looking for the Twilight series of books? They seem to have them on Amazon.com - they came up in suggestions when I was looking at something else and they are in stock.

That was me! I was having a hard time finding hardcover and softcover in a set. I was able to find book 2 and 3 at Walmart in hardcover. Her dad can get book 4. lol

Thanks!

Tammy, sorry about your mom. My grandma had bleeding ulcers too and she almost died from that hospital stay.

Wiz, have you tried Kava instant coffee? My old GI doc told me about it. It's 90% acid neutralized and doesn't hurt the tummy. I keep a jar in the cabinet for days when my tummy is hurting.

Hi all. Just checking in real quick. Had a good time at the winter fair. A lot of awesome workmanship and really cool art stuff. Wiped out, but so worth it to have fun.

So we ordered pizza. Gonna kick back, relax, and probably fall asleep.

Have a great night all.
