Sometimes in "Heathy Living catalogs I see iremovable outdoor tips, but know I couldn'tr do it. Shoot, I have a power chair, not good when the snow comes to get to a car on slanty area for 15 feet!!!Better lunch now.

It seems there is no single answer to it.

Some of the websites have the answer for ice, but not a hardwood floor. The 3 screws through the rubber would be ok until I walked across the tile floor once. After my wife finished with me it would take a Phrenologist to ID the body.

I guess I could solve it by staying in the house. No wet paint here.

It's a design tip for canes, crutches and walkers.

Not having tried/tested the product, I honestly don't know whether it's effective (in anti-slipping), yet I do think that its appearance is cool and clever .


P.S.: Just looked around the site some more (had to approve a script to run before a site-page would open; it didn't break my 'puter ). Given the cost of the tip, I'm gonna get one for my cane. I'll let you know whether that works.


Though I bought the pads, I was referring to in my earlier post, from shoe stores, the ones depicted at the link below are very much like the ones I've used (and they were quite effective - on soles). In thinking of them, I was wondering if they could be trimmed-to-fit the tip of crutches, etc., for anti-slip on surfaces.

Bobby, good idea. If cost is better and insurance won't cover it, walking people could purchase the snow "chains" for shoes (easily removable), often in sports catalogs (LL Bean etc.) You'd have to be physically fairly able and you'd have to be aware at all times to not depend on cane if you feel it slipping, depend on feet!!!. I don't work, can stay home. If I go out, DH still very strong and helps me. You know your abilities best.
